Opie and Anthony suspended.
From Xm sattelite radio.
Fucktards.
Look: Freedom of speech is NOT ABOUT TELLING DICK JOKES, YOU MORONS. Freedom of speech is about political speech.
XM is a commerical enterprise that lives or dies on revenue. If something you say on the air is harmful enough that revenue drops off, of COURSE you are going to get censored.
Freedom of speech does not mean freedom of the consequences of that speech- and nowhere is that more obvious than in the broadcast communication business. If you cost your company money, you will feel the consequences.

I’m waiting for free speech to hit the net. Blogger is going to shut me down one day.
“”Freedom of speech does not mean freedom of the consequences of that speech”
I’ve even held that the oft-repeated “Fire in a crowded theatre” exception is actually rather stupid. Of COURSE you can shout “Fire!” in a crowded theatre. But there’d damned well better BE one, or you’re committing murder.
What bugs me is no truth-in-advertising rules for politicians.
M
Were these the morons that mimicked Daniel Pearl screaming as he was murdered?
It seems to me that the ones that shout about freedom of speech the loudest are the ones that don’t understand it.
Yes, they are the same guys trying to reinstate the fairness doctrine. Morons.
What pisses me off about Opie and Anthony is that originally XM had them as a premium channel that cost more. The monthly subscription w/o those assholes was $9.95/m. XM decided we all needed to hear that shit, so they made it a standard channel and raised the rate to $11.95/m. I can have that or any channel blocked if I wish, but I still pay for all of them.
Oddly, this is being considered censorship, and some of XM’s sponsors are actually threatening to pull their ads.
Go figure.
They always sucked anyway.
Freedom of speech doesn’t mean you can talk about raping someone and not face consequences.
These two douchbags don’t seem to realize that.
