Movie Review: Bubba HoTep.
Saw this movie at the suggestion of a friend, and if you haven’t, you need to see this film.
Bruce Campbell is Elvis.
Ossie Davis is JFK.
Money quotes:
Elvis:I was dreamin’. Dreamin’ my dick was out and I was checkin’ to see if that infected bump on the head of it had filled with pus again. If it had, I was gonna name it after my ex-wife Priscilla and bust it by jackin’ off. Or I’d like to think that’s what I’d do. Dreams let you think like that. Truth was, I hadn’t had a hard-on in years.
Elvis: No offense, Jack, but President Kennedy was a white man.
JFK: They dyed me this color! That’s how clever they are!
Nuff said.
here’s the official website of the movie.
Here’s the IMDB.
Put it on your netflix list.

“They took out my brain, and replaced it with a little bag of sand!”
Nobody but nobody else I know has seen this film. I found out about it from Mancow when he was on.
Og is right, everyone. This is a must-see. Don’t ask either of us to describe it, either. Any written explanation gets it totally wrong. You have to experience it, like Gnostic wisdom. It’s easier to describe the movie Brazil.
My daughter told me about it, and I’ve got a copy on the shelf. It’s… ‘interesting’ isn’t quite the word.
Any movie where a skewered, electrocuted giant bug is informed “Don’t fuck with the King” is worth seeing.
Okay, done. It’s in the que and should be here in a week or so.
Bubba Ho-Tep…saw it about a year ago. It was interesting…but I liked it.
It’s one of those movies. Not a ton of belly laughs, but enough good chuckles to make it a good rental.
I loved that movie. It'[s just so freakin’ bizarre I can’t resist.
Plus it has Bruce Campbell who can make even the shittiest movie entertaining.
Great movie. I’d see it again, maybe even buy it, when I get around to getting another tv.
Mr. Mo and I saw that one a few years ago at “Movie Night” with some friends. It helps to be slightly inebriated. :-)
I definitely recommend it for its quirkiness, if nothing else.
Hell, just see it for the references to “…a sore on my pecker.”
