Savage Nation
I’ve beenj listening to Mike Savage on our local affiliate. I can’t get my head around him yet. He seems to be voicing the things we all hear in our own heads, but he’s a clear nutjob. Four houses, three studios, nobody knows where he is or is gonna be next, obsessive compulsive, yada yada. If he doesn’t implode it will be interesting to see how he progresses.

Give him a week, read Borders, Language and Culture and he’ll seem to be the only ‘sane’ voice you hear on radio. … your mileage, of course, may vary.
[Personal opinion expressed above does not necesssarily reflect anything, yada yada …]
he does seem to be the voice I hear inside my head. Which may be a little nuts. I’ve been listening off and on now a month.
I think if he was going to implode he’d’ve done it long ago–he’s been on the air for years, after all.
I have only heard him a few times, and I guess I hit the times when he’s gone so far off the rails I look at the radio and say… “you didn’t just say that did you?” Heh.
I figure he must be entertaining to more than a few people since he’s been around so long. Of course Art Bell has been around for a long time too… *grin*
He rides point and takes the hits so that others on the Right can advance against the Left. The Left started this cultural civil war and fight dirty. Too many on the Right, even when they dare enter the ring, still fight with gloves on. Few will even mention his name let alone give him any credit for their new found latitude.
He is sometimes misses terribly with his satire and sarcasm, and is an easy target. But when he is good, he is vital.
Theresa, try these two short clips from Monday or Tuesday of this week.
1. A series of reports that you won’t learn about from MSM. Especially the one about the Michigan State U Engineering professor who took a fair stand and was attacked by CAIR.
2. Savage interviews Robert Spencer of Jihad Watch. (Sorry, but the 1st 10 seconds need a volume boost; the remaining 8 minutes are good).
I used to listen to him semi-regularly, but he came out with racist statements against blacks a couple of times.
I’m just starting to listen to him. He seems to be intent on skewering everyone’s sacred cow.
I’m one of the few women who listens to him (apparently), and I’ll agree he’s a bit whacked, but he does put on a good show.
I listened to him for a while. Even though I agreed with him on the points, eventually the “Yankee Asshole” persona made me turn off the radio. Even when they’re right, I’d rather listen to fingernails on a chalkboard than a Yankee Asshole.
Amen, Aaron! No offense to assholes or Yankees: I’m one of the former, and have friends who are the latter, but the “I’m a New Yawker, so I’m better than God” act bites coming from anyone.
I like Savage (or Weiner, if you prefer), but now & then I have to turn him off. I do like the fact that he doesn’t kiss anyone’s ass & just says what he wants. He’s also right–a nation that can’t or won’t protect its borders, language, and culture doesn’t deserve to be a nation, and won’t be for long.
He just doesn’t do a damn thing for me.
He should, but he doesn’t.
Don’t know why?
I’ll say this for Michael Savage, the interviews that Pascal linked to are good, and like Tennesee Budd mentioned, the “borders, language, culture” theme is right on target.
Hubs and I believe some of the stuff he espouses, and used to listen to him fairly regularly and even got a Paul Revere Society cap a few years ago, but over time we haven’t been able to listen to his ranting style much anymore. Sounds like he’s about to have a brain aneurysm sometimes. He’s on the same time as Mark Levin in our market. (Now, Mark gets riled up, too, but it’s not as “disturbing” to listen to. At least for us.) There’s a kind of feud between the two. Mark refers to him as Weiner Nation (a reference to his real name). Here are some past posts on Mark Levin Fan
I’m still not quite sure what started it all, but gradually, I’m siding with Mark. I also don’t like the way Savage bashes Rush and other conservative talk show hosts.
That’s all. (to quote Savage :-)
Savage seems like a big fat slob with a wifebeater t-shirt on, to me. I don’t need another radio talk-show host who’s “holier than thou.” If I wanted that, I’d listen to Rush more.
He is out there where we all would like to be, but because of the libs socialist pc agenda, to quote savage, are scared to be. I am glad he is out there and saying what needs to be said. It is not all roses and he doesn’t and won’t wear the free glasses. He may lack some cooth, but he gets it said and his listeners make a difference, illegal imigration, dubai ports…come on, with out him on this, where would we be? The media complex did not cover it and we never would have known about the wool over our eyes if we hadn’t heard it from him. We are thought of as sheep and are only worth the act of one vote to the big house in DC.
