Tires.
Sigh.
I was hoping not to have to do this much damage to the Visa card. Sonofabitch.
Swapped out the spare for the right front and the noise all but disapeared. What remaining noise is certainly the other front tire.
Crap. There goes $500.

Yeah, I had a $670 hit on that in June.
What the hell kind of tires do you have that cost $250 each?
I’ve looked up replacement costs for the 20″ tires on my Ram, and they’re not that much…
there are often four tires on a truck.
Pep Boys house brand.
not a bargain with my drive dick.
jay- the full time awd on the exploder doesn’t deal well with unevenly worn tires. You kinda gotta replace them all.
Ah… It really sounded like you were just replacing the two front tires.
Even at that, og, look around. I got four BF Goodrich tires for my Durango for $300 at BJ’s about two years ago. They will frequently send out coupons for $10-$15 off a tire.
Just a thought…
I gotta get a high treadwear tire. I drive about 110-130 miles a day. Minimal tire is about 80 bux before mount & balance. About 5 bills at the end of the day.
Sounds about right. I just re-shoed the Ram 4×4 at Costco with BFG Long Trails. Even with a $60 coupon it was still $425 out the door.
That’s a lot of beer money converted to rubber. Damn.
Everybody sit down. New OEM grippers for the LS are $1,200. Needless to say, I bought non OEMs, still hit me for over $700.
Did you know Z rated tires don’t have a tread warranty? If you get 20-25k miles you’re lucky… Just turned over 101k
Z rated are racing and very soft sticky compound. Help you defy the rules of physics for a time. About 20k or so. Have had a few that called for those tires and anything else and you would be slipping out on the turns. No that can make you see Jesus in a hurry.
Reminds me of the Dunlop GT Qualifiers my brother talked my father into putting on the family car when he (my brother) was in high school. They MIGHT have lasted 15K miles. Last time we ever saw Dunlop anything on the car, and the last time my father did anything recommended by my brother.
Ayup.
That’s about what it cost me to redo the tires on the mighty Chevy.
Now the WS6 T/A’s tires…yeesh!!
