The Youtube Phenomenon
I have been following the Youtube exploits of SteveH for some time now, and i have to say, he’s as funny on Youtube as is his book.
THe videos- several of which can be found here, are a riot. If you read Hog on Ice, you might occasionally get the impression that Steve is an overeducated, self important asshole. And, well, you might be right. But the videos, which are awesome, show a side of Steve that maybe he didn’t want you to see, the side that’s actually a self-effacing, sweet guy, who loves his birds, hates being abused, and dislikes having his mug all over the internet, but does so anyway to promote himself and his books. This one rocks, and the subtitles make me laugh out loud.

About a year ago, on Laurence Simon’s recommendation, I started listening to Steve H.’s podcasts. Hysterical…and the deadpan delivery adds to the humor.
The videos are good too…kinda like a visual podcast. And you’re right…they show another side of Steve.
I heartily recommend his book eat All You Want, and Die Like A Man. He self-published it a couple of years ago, but now it’s been picked up by a real publishing house and a new edition will be out soon.
fyi – Ya gotta fix that last link, Og. It has an extra “http://” in front of the address.
Yep. I might have to skip his writing completely and watch his vids. Lately I’ve been having trouble reading him without getting irritated, but that steak video with the subtitles was a gas! Whoever was saying the subtitles detract, totally doesn’t get it. They *are* “it”.
Hahahahahaha!!! I had no idea!! Thanks for linking this, Og. I needed a laugh today. :)
By that I mean his blog, not his cookbook. EatWhatYouWantAndDieLikeAMan is cover to cover classic.
