Its 85 with high humidity here, first day of BP season. I will not be in the woods. I am a small person and I am sure some of the bugs are bigger than I am. I hate cleaning deer in warm weather, bad enough job when its cool or cold. And I never kill one unless its a most inconvenient time to do the after shot stuff.
Enjoy your field time, there is less and less of it here.
Same thing goes for camping on the NC coast – except it’s the stable flies. The bloody things can punch through a Jagdpanther and figure out if there’s a square micron of uncovered skin, zeroing in on it like Rosie O’Donnell to a distant desert buffet.
I wonder if you could drink deet. It is absorbed into the bloodstream anyway. Probably safer than the Popov vodka someone served me at a party last weekend.
