A few inspiring thoughts
primarily about perspective.
Got a job? No, you don’t. Your EMPLOYER has a job. He pays you to do it. You can’t give the job to someone else, therefore it is not yours. You are a placekeeper. Remember that. Often, someone else can keep the same place as effectively. Or more.
Your life is the same thing. It is allotted to you by the Creator. You cannot give it to someone else, for you do not own it. The creator owns it. You are just using it. You are just the tenant.
Interesting from that perspective, is it not?

Always the spoiler, I hasten to point out that your allegory is potentially faulty.
Finding two negative cases in the category of “possession”, a different conclusion might be that “possession” means something else.
The Native Americans, for example, don’t believe in possession (or say they don’t, anyway, but they’ve fought a lot of wars over what seems to be a non-entity).
So, when you wax philosophical, remember that there are always two sides to a coin.
My French Professor, Dr. Frank Giese (who turned out to be a terrorist member of the Weather Underground), was fond of directing me to the philosophy of Marcel Proust, a superb denier who could deny anything one might hold dear.
Wax Philosophical nonetheless, Og.
Proust’ denials can be denied.
The perspective issue comes back:
Which is more encouraging, profitable to growth?
Finally, brethren, whatsoever things are true, whatsoever things are honest, whatsoever things are just, whatsoever things are pure, whatsoever things are lovely, whatsoever things are of good report; if there be any virtue, and if there be any praise, think on these things.
that indian ownership thing worked out well for them dint it, dog? LOL!
