Military shoot
Shot this match this morning, Had a BLAST. We had 30 participants. And the weather blew chunks. Can’t wait to shoot some of their other matches.
The K31 came through. No way I’ll ever be able to shoot as well as the rifle. I did 78/78 at 100 yards, sitting/kneeling. I actually did better sitting, but my target collected three rounds from the next lane, which disqualified my best three shots (a ten, a ten, and an X) so I would have shot closer to 90.
I was pleased I didn’t embarras myself. I was also amused to see a lot of high end black “tactical” rifles jamming. THe K31 never jammed.
need to get me some stripper clips.

Does the K31 use a mauser type clip? I ordered stainless ones from Champions Choice for the bolt match guns I use, they are very slick, big difference from the surplus ones I bought at gun shows.
> We had 3 show up for our shoot today. And 2 of ’em were the guys doing the hosting, so we called it off. Lotsa fun when it happens, it’s what got me back into shooting after a 30-year hiatus.

Glad you guys had fun!
That’s not the same as stripper shoes, right?
There’s a place called Tennessee Gun Parts, something like that, has about the best price for the chargers I’ve seen. At least the last time I looked.
If I had to keep only one rifle, it would be my M38 Swedish short rifle. Mine’s a Husqvarna made in 1943.
I finally used the last of my jacketed bullets and cast some out of wheelweights, then tumble lubed ’em and shot ’em as cast. The mold is a Lee semi-custom flat nose that throws very consistent 155 grain bullets that mike .265″. Those bullets hit the same as the service rounds at 100 yards with the sight set at 350 meters. Due to my old eyebulbs the best I can group is about 6″. I’m pleased with Lee’s liquid Alox lube, 100 rounds and no leading.
I don’t have a chrony yet, but according to my Accurate manual, 47 grns of 8700 should be pushing them at around 2000 fps. When my chrony gets here, I’ll know.
I finally figured why the Swede kicks like a pussycat. The service round is 140 grains at about 2600 fps in a 9# rifle. It doesn’t feel that heavy to carry, either. I can’t imagine that rifle jamming short of being run over by a tank.
A question. What in heck does “Tactical” mean? Seems to be like “marine’ hardware. Same as the regular stuff but call it “marine” and triple the price.
