New year’s resolutions
Mr Porretto has some excellent advice about new years resolutions. Mostly about not making any.
I never have, I never saw the point.
I do tend to use the week between the holidays to reflect, to think about things I might change in my life ways to make the new year better than the last.Less out of need than as a sort of spring cleaning, a moment of slate clearing. Sort of a non-denominational Yom Kippur.
Happy new year!

am now living in Europe, just found out through “neanderpundit” that a friend Jay Marvin was forced to leave WLS radio in Chicago where he had been a radio jock for years. Because he is far left, and in the USA, I understand how the RIGHT dominated media likes to get rid of disenting voices. appreciate you being online. at least you believe in fair play.
Ed: The left dominated media, yank. The media by it’s own admission is predoninantly left. WLS is more conservative, because, guess what? it more accurately reflects the views of it’s audience.
Jay was becoming a liability. There are far more left wing folks on the air at WLS than Jay, and still are. Pity about Jay; he was bright but would brook no dissent, nor listen to anyone who disagreed with him about anything.
Proving yet again what a geek I am: I spend the week between Christmas and New Years making an end-to-end backup of all the computers in the house.
