It would have been best to start them a couple of days ago, but in lieu of something like Dulcolax or stronger, you might wanna give ’em a try.
They are pleasant-tasting chewable tablets, not like those powders that you mix with liquid, though I guess those have been improved over the years.

Liberal applications of stool softeners finally broke the logjam for me.
It took several bowl filling episodes before everything got back on schedule.
When I was in the hospital for knee reconstruction, I didn’t pass for a week.
When things finally got started moving again, due to medication, it was, to put it mildly, an unpleasant experience. Think Constipation from hell.

With your belly band and shot glass stomach, what can you take that isn’t unpleasant should it back up?
I recommend, both professionally and from experience, Milk of Magnesia in “liberal” (can I use that word here?)
