DNR Done.
FINALLY I figured out the deal with the reserved hunts. You have to have an Indiana Hunters Ed certificate to be on the short list, and I have not had mine. Which I rectified today. And applied for the reserve hunts etc. SO maybe I’ll have some better luck this year. Sheesh.
The hunters ed cert is cool, you can take a practice test here. it’s free to take the practice test and you can take it over and over again. And I learned a few things, too!
Anyway, the permits are being applied for, the licenses bought, etc. I’m on my way. Hope to hell this season goes better than the last two.

60 of 75 and that fucking thing drug on forever. Did I mention that I know absolutely dick about black powder and crossbows?
Out here in Nevada I got my tag draw results a few weeks ago.
One tag, antlerless elk in the muzzleloading season.
One tag is actually good in Nevada.
As a fellow hoosier, I’d appreciate any general tips on how to get someone to take you under their wing for learning the way of the hunt (my parents were city folk); getting into the reserved hunts would be a major bonus.
That IS pretty cool Og!
I took it & got an 85%- said I’m ready to take the qualification.
Except I’m in NH- not much help I’m guessing.
Not bad though considering it’s been 26 years since my original HSC, & I don’t know squat about bows & such.
Good luck this season…
Got an 85% myself. Not bad for someone who was grandfathered in on the HSC in my state. Of course, when I started hunting, the ususal admonition was “Son! Be careful which way you point that spear. Yea hear?”
