Sorry for the lack of postage
Spent a lot of yesterday doing yardwork, and this morning shooting this matchit’s been hard to stop grinning long enough to sit down and type.
I always approach the matches with a bit of apprehension, the idea that I’m not good enough, or will make a fool out of myself…
Well, I DO suck, but I also tend to suck less than others, and more than some, and it’s a good time, at the end of which I had a chance to shoot a little pocket 25 that was given to me (temporarily; It already has a home destined for it, now i know it shoots OK) and I will be bluing it and putting decent grips on it soon.
The match was rifle and pistol. I had a great time, and can’t wait for the results to see how much I sucked. I did place second in the head to head- two men shoot three falling plates each, and the first one to drop three wins. I made it through four elimination rounds to finish second, to a kid who looks like he shoots 500-900 rounds a day, based on his shooting. Damned impressive.
It’s nice to shoot at something not paper. I mean, I like making holes, as much as the next guy, but I like the reactive targets, the clays, the timed events. Very nice.

I find that I do better at shooting objects than paper. I’m not so good at hitting a bulls eye, but line up a row of cans or expended shotgun shells and I can knock them down with no problem.
Og, any possibility the pistol you’re referring to is a Belgian semi auto, WWII era?
no an old colt. a mess really. shoots ok though.
Wacked a can of shaving cream with gramp’s SKS this weekend, that was neat.
Rgr. Good luck with the re-work.
