Glowbull Warming!!!!
Was 85 today. Maybe even crept up to over 90.
I remember 110 degree summers. THis is nothing.
Spent most of the day in a hot factory the likes of which are disappearing all over our nation. Still, it was hot and muggy, even indoors. Felt like I would melt.
Came home and mowed, set the pushmower down and scalped a patch of the front yard for a croquet pitch, and trimmed the rest. Backyard will wait for the weekend.
Paid bills and played a couple games of Croquet with the ogwife and oglet.
Busy day, piglet.

Speaking of which, I’m seriously contemplating the purchase of an old fashion, human powered, reel mower.
Like I need that big ass rider to cut my postage stamp of a front yard.
Like this one.

Sweet!
Dick. Memreez.
The need to go forward and back over the same patch until the grass is cut good enough. It’s wonderful for developing frustration tolerance.
OR
Running over a long stretch in order to develop reel speed cut it better. You still need to run back over the same stretch on the way back. And maybe only once (or twice) more. Great way to keep in shape even when a 100° in the shade.
And the best.
Going away with the family on vacation only to return to face a 2-3 weeks growth with your push mower. Unraveling tangles around the axle will provide you with a needed break or two that you probably wouldn’t indulge in by choice.
Great idea!
Pascal, I have a tiny as front yard, so it shouldn’t hurt me too bad. Used to have one when I was a kid.
Me too, Dick — Memreez. [grumble, pisanmoan, grouse] :)
LOL! Pascal: You also have to remember that Dick is built like an Infantryman. Wait, he IS an infantryman. Shit, I bet he’s the only guy that comes here that could keep up with you playing racquetball.
Though if you beat him he might shoot you.
Heeeeeey Og. Thanks for the thought. It’s prolly why, though working on 7 decades, I can withstand a 100° court for 3 hours.
And you gotta do the lawn late, when it’s hottest, cuz the early morning dew will make mowing a bind-and-clump-pull instead of a clip. More manual mower Memreez [grouse, etc.] LOL
LOL! Men, I did an ACRE. Mostly stickers, little grass, with a push type reel mower.
Yeah. The good ol’ days where men could grumble and forget…. forget…. without being sent off to therapy.
Actually, it’s good to remember those times, and I’ll tell you why: We were tougher then. We need to toughen up still.
Good point Og.
Now if I was as tough as Dick, I’d have to soften up.
