Question:
If, god forbid, Obama gets elected, the media swoon will last forever, and numbnuts all over the place will be whining about the fact that normal (not insane) people will be complaining about the stupidity he engenders. Each and every one of those morons will say things like “We don’t need those freedoms. They’re bad for us. And besides “BUSH LIED PEOPLE DIED”.
Bottomline is this: A liberal sees everything as black and white. Liberalism is good, and everything a liberal does is good. A conservative sees the truth, which is basically, liberalism is horrible, and conservatives and liberals fuck this country up like nobody’s business.
Why is it that I have never met an intellectually honest liberal?

You used intellectual and honest in the same sentence to refer to the same object.
Please tell me you pun.
Never gonna happen. They’re only honest when they sleep, or they’re dead.
I prefer the later.
Bonnie! How ’bout them titties, girl?
A leftist who faces reality honestly finds it a kind of catalyst. Having met the truth, he can no longer be a leftist.
A true liberal will be most intellectually honest, but most of them realize that the progressive Left has stolen the term and don’t lay claim to it anymore.

Change that to “how come I’ve never seen an honest POLITICIAN” and I might buy it.
The world’s second oldest profession is politics, and they learned it from the world’s oldest.
Actually, intellectual and honest often go together. Mr Porretto and Mr Pascal are both scary smart, and I don’t think it would even occur to them to be dishonest. OTOH, I guess it is a foregone conclusion that intellect and honesty preclude modern liberalism.
I think it’s a left brain right brain thing. Thinking vs. feeling.
Conservatives are against gun control because, besides the fact that it’s limiting liberty, the damn idea just doesn’t work. It’s not practical to keep with an idea that’s proven bad. Liberals feel that if you take scary guns from people, you’ll at least feel like you’ve done something, even if it’s futility. So Daley wants to crack down on guns in a city that has already banned their ownership. Dumb, but it feels good.
Liberals do things like hang in trees naked in Berkeley (see zombietime.com) or have innumerable marches since it makes them feel like making a stupid statement is the same as effecting change, while conservatives are too busy doing stuff to mess with that. Reminds me of when women sit around and talk about how they feel about a problem, then announce everything has been solved, when the problem is still there, just because they shared emotions about it.
Conservatives have to be reasoned into a stance, while liberals have to have their heart strings pulled.
I agree that it is a Feeling vs Thinking situation.
Liberals who run a society constantly change the laws to accommodate the latest trend, direction, or need.
Conservatives who run a society will define a set of rules and be hesitant to change them.
Liberals want to be liked, so they bend their structures in order to achieve that.
Conservatives want to be consistent and they bend themselves within their defined structures.
But, most importantly, Liberals will fall victim to “Outliars” (intentional mis-spelling).
Conservatives will ban “Outliars”.
“Outliars” is a morph of the statistical term ‘outlier’, which (in this case) is a person who is ‘outside the norm’. An “Outliar” is someone who is outside the norm and is abusive. Murderers, thieves, warlords, dictators, and sociopaths are all “Outliars”. They take advantage of the ‘nice people’ in a society. These people exist in *every* society. The difference is how they are responded to. In a Liberal society, the structures are bent and adjusted to comply with this non-standard behavior. In a Conservative society, the “Outliar” is bent – imprisoned, rehabbed, or cast out. The visible difference is that in a Liberal society, the processes and structures are constantly changing and upheavals occur. In a Conservative society, any changes are slow and upheavals are rare.
“…Why is it that I have never met an intellectually honest liberal?…”
The same reason you’ve never seen a pig with wings.
