Open Post for Tom
who I “met” in comments at Tanya’s.
I felt rude arguing wiht him there, so I invited him here. Tom, if you’d like to spew your “global community” bullshit here, please, do. I might clean the floor with your carcase, or I might just let my commenters do it…
Or I might give you to Dick.
Update: Tom actually showed up, so I have to give him credit for balls.
Now, I’d love to hear why he thinks Obama is so wonderful.
Would it be because he’s a criminal?
Would it be because he’s a socialist?
Would it be because he and his cronies are presiding over the worst economic crisis in the last hundred years?
Would it be because he hates America?
No, no I’m pretty sure it’s just because Tom is a moron. He claims that 52% of Americans will choose Obama, and states that as if it gives credence to his choice! Tom, here’s a little clue for you: if 52% of people do something stupid, it doesn’t all of a sudden become smart.
Obama has everything going for him. He has the whole power of the media behind him. He has legal and illegal contributors from all nations, because all the people who wish to harm the US want him desperately to become president. His spending is nearly 7 to 1 what mc Cain is spending. And yet, somehow, with all of this going for him, McCain is still strangely neck and neck with The Chosen One. Why would that be? Perhaps it’s because not everyone is a mindless moron like you, Tom.
The media has brainwashed people like you, Tom, into believing that this is the Messiah, come to lead us to the promised land. That is, of course, if you’re merely a moron, and not evil. Because the only two reasons anyone would vote for Obama is if you are stupid, (which is true of most sheep Obama supporters) or evil, and want to ride his wave of popularity to your own place in the sun, where you can be one of the priveleged elite, not subject to the rules the Obamessiah would apply to the Hoi Poloi.
Unlike you, Tom, I’m not a mindless supporter of this stupidity, and I am capable of reason. And therefore I know, that you may be correct in assuming Obama will get elected.
But that doesn’t make him, or you, or anyone who supports him, right. All it does is make people like me subject to a great deal of stupidity we do not deserve.
I wonder if this is one of Vman’s spillovers? Hell, I’ll take it, like the secret service guys tagging the groupies not quite hot enough for JFK.
Makes you pity the guys who got the Lewinski-era spillovers, dont’cha? (shudder)
UPDATE: Not a big surprise that the IP resolves to Amsterdam. Sheesh.
UPDATE UPDATE: The spam filters tagged Tom, I didn’t, I had to go back and undelete his comments. But apparently he’s in the habit of this crap, because the spam filter grabed him before I noticed. Someone else must have tagged him as spam. I’ll try to go find and udelete any new comments he makes if I can.

Let’s just get a few things straight, ok? So you know with whom you’re arguing.
I’m 37, father of one and another on the way. My father served in Vietnam. I’ve had the opportunity to visit every continent, and live for an appreciable amount of time on three of them. Was a proud republican until about 2002, when i realized that many of the conservative principles I still believe in weren’t really being attended to.
Combined, my wife and I make a little over $250,000 a year. Own a house on Long Island, and work in Manhattan. I’ve worked for Google and other like-minded companies where great ideas rise to the front and a real understanding of the way the world works drives our business and our ideology.
Like my father, I’ve taken a keen interest in history and because of that, try to take a multi-lateral approach to global conflicts.
So you can paint me as a caricature, or you can understand who I am and where I am coming from.
So – with that in mind …
I’m hardly some pantywaist ‘liberal’ (though, I like reminding people, Jesus was a liberal) … I look for the best solutions to challenges, regardless of origin. And I can assure you that doubling down on this idea of ‘going it alone and to hell with the rest’ simply isn’t going to get it done. And so you say that anyone with reason could only vote for McCain. Well, I disagree with you and so will roughly 52% of your fellow Americans come Tuesday. I think it’s pretty clear that the majority of Americans, like me, are tired of the direction this country has taken the last 10-12 years or so. Not a democratic or republican problem, but an American one.
So, like you, I think it’s preposterous that anyone with reason wouldn’t vote for my candidate. But that’s the way it is.
I know you like to talk tough, and this is certainly your bully pulpit. But guess what? I know I’m right, I know you’re wrong, and we’ll have a chance to see who’s right and wrong over the next eight years. So why argue about it now? History will unfold and we can spend our time analyzing the past so as not to repeat it.
“But guess what? I know I’m right, I know you’re wrong”
That, Tom, would be because you’re a moron.
You win.
And lastly, tell you what. Instead of being a “typical coward” (which is hilarious!) I’ll come back here regularly to discuss what’s going on in the world. You and your site are really pretty one-sided and could probably use some healthy discussion. So when circumstances call for it, I’ll be back to chat about it. Not to call names (I’ll leave that to you – so far I’m a moron, a coward, and Tanya) but to stir things up. You up for it?
My site is this sided: the correct side. Please, do stick around. My commenters love straw men, I wonder if you’re capable of withstanding the pure glow of reason, or if, like all vile insects, you run from the light of day.
First of all, relax. Seriously. Life’s too short to be blowing a gasket all the time.
And yeah, I’d gladly come back and chat. I can see both sides. I can understand multiple points of view. So far I haven’t heard a thing out of you other than insults. Why are you so sure you’re right? First rule I learned is to run far away from people who have utter certitude about everything.
I have called nobody a name.
You are a moron, for you are voting Obama. That is self evident. Tanya is the owner of the other blog, further illustrating your lack of contact with reality. And as far as coward is concerned, I’ll tentatively retract that because you did show up here.
Here’s a little lesson for you. I’ll use small words so you’ll understand. If I called you “poopy head” it would be calling you a name. I do not know if you are a poopy head, so that would be wrong, and i would not do that. I DO know, for certain, that you are a moron. That is not a name, it is a technical term that describes your mental caabilities, as is evidenced by your inability to reason. You would be a coward too, if you continued to yap away in Tanya’s comments rather than come here, but you did, so you might be redeemable, or capable of being educated.
But I doubt it.
Lets see, first we have:
“But guess what? I know I’m right, I know you’re wrong, ”
And then we get:
“First rule I learned is to run far away from people who have utter certitude about everything.”
In the space of three comments proving my point. I love this, I really do. Self fisking commenters, whoda thunk it?
I already told you I’d be coming back. Did you not read that?
You’re a pretty funny guy, dude. You don’t like being discourteous. LOL!!!
Oh and arguments on the internet are like the Special Olympics. Even if you win, you’re still retarded. Keep that in mind.
Well looks like you’ve put the spam filter on me.
ed: Sorry, don’t know what happened there.
It doesn’t matter. Obama is going to win. Everything else is window dressing. Now you get a chance to exercise your first amendment rights and complain about your government. Enjoy.
Yep. “Our guy is going to win, nyeah nyeah nyeah”
Well, you may be right, but it’s still wrong.
“Oh and arguments on the internet are like the Special Olympics. Even if you win, you’re still retarded. Keep that in mind”
Great use of a hackneyed phrase you didn’t even make up yourself to show how stupid I am. Got anything else in there I’ve heard a thousand times AND is equally untrue?
Sorry, you don’t even register on my radar. You’re another of the mindless (self evident) horde. It don’t confront me that you may well be right about Obama winning, but you fail to understand that it doesn’t make you less a moron for believing this is a good thing. That koolade taste good?
I am sitting in Long Island and on my company laptop. I’ve never even been to Amsterdam.
Anyway, let’s stick to the topic at hand. Obama I prefer over McCain. A year ago I said, if we could get Obama and McCain as our two final choices, that would be something to see – finally two fine, yet opposite choices. As this campaign has gone on, I’ve seen two candidates with huge institutional advantages – Clinton with her machine, and McCain with his Rove/Schmidt machine, get undone by Obama, who put his campaign together really over the last 18-24 months or so. So I respect any politician who can unseat those two foes. This will be a campaign that gets dissected 200 years from now.
I think he strikes the right tone about things. I think this whole nonsense about socialism is really the most moronic route the McCain team could have gone down – didn’t he want to fly in and manage the bailout effort? What would you call a nationalization of the banks, of socializing risk and privatizing reward, if not socialism?
And as for all the ACORN, Ayers, Wright bullshit – dude, that shit is so tired. It’s over. The case was made, and the verdict was rendered. Noone fucking cares. Certainly it’s no more embarrassing than being part of Keating 5, of crashing many planes, and of running this horrible, loser’s campaign.
McCain doesn’t even have the balls to believe what he’s saying. You can tell that to him, having to run a negative campaign bothers him. Geez, McCain, man up already you wimp! LOL.
I just don’t seem to be able to keep this from killing your comments, Tom, I’m really sorry, honestly, I am not trying to do this.
As for Obama’s activities with Acorn, Ayers, Raines, etc, if that’s OK with you? it says a lot about your morals- or lack therof. Sorry, all that activity and those connections mean Obama has no business being the president, he couldn’t even pass the job qualifications to be a security guard at Wal-Mart. He should be indicted and prosecuted, not elected.
Mc Cain suffered enough pain in the name of his country that I think it speaks to your lack of intelligence and intellectual honesty to even suggest he “Man up”.
Does anyone else want a pass at this moron? Nathan, I know you would enjoy this. Or Orange. Dick, you might want to hold back, he might wet himself.
Fair enough re: the spam. No big deal. It might be filtering me due to volume of comments? I’ll take some time off …
As for the rest, honestly it doesn’t matter anymore. Obama is going to win. I think that much is obvious. It would be far more interesting to hear your take on what’s coming. What do you think is going to happen? Paint me a scenario. Both short-term (margin of win on Tuesday) and long-term (what’s going to happen domestically, and internationally).
In the shrt term, idiots will riot no matter what. I expect Obamessiah to win by about two electoral votes. In the long term, well, read the post above.
Well Tom he may, and he may not. I am going to cancel your vote, because any change is not necessarily a good change.
I don’t think you’re an idiot, but I do think you are naive.
The nice thing is – we will get to see, right? We’ll see what works. We’ll be able to prove if I was naive. Looking forward to it.
I and a lot of Og’s regulars are sorry Tom that we can’t read your side of the argument.
Why not email Og your comments and he can post them for you?
It’s will be septuply hilarious if after wasting all that money, Obama still loses. Mr. Spread-The-Wealth will have spent the most money by any presidential candidate ever. Guess what, Mr. Spread-The-Wealth; you already did just that, and not in a fiscally responsible sort of way, either. I just want to thank you, on behalf of John McCain and Sarah Palin, for getting him elected.
I was just going to say “You’d better hope he gets 52%, because Bush got 51% in 2004, and they still refused to call it a ‘mandate.’
I suspect 1% would miraculously tip the scales on that definition.”
But what a surreal series of comments. It looks like you’re having a debate with an imaginary friend.
I was being cautious with 52%. It could be more. I suppose it could be less.
Bush acted like he had a mandate regardless of what the outcome was, but as McCain has argued (and I agree), elections have consequences. I always found the ‘mandate’ argument on the left to be more or less sour grapes. You win, you get to set the agenda, of course.
And sorry, I’m pretty much flesh and blood.
LOL! Tanya, I promise you this is not a sock puppet. I couldn’t even act this stupid.
I hope the comments stay here, I really do. I don’t know if it is the frequency or the location (the IP resolves to Amsterdam, probably the home of Tom’s parent company) and it’s an IP shared by some known spammers, so I’ll keep trying to repost, but for whatever reason everytime he posts a comment the filter deletes them ALL. I’ll keep trying to fix it because it’s so entertaining, but if i have to copy/paste the whole deal I will.
Oh, there, I found a blacklist entry. Try again, Tom.
Ok, now that his side of the conversation is visible:
Was a proud republican until about 2002
I call astroturf.
Yep, this is clearly what Rush calls a “seminar caller”.
Tom, you were never conservative, and you are not now. Sorry.
Hi Tom!
Will you be my cellmate?
You know Dick, it’s funny to, I dunno, intrude upon this little tea party of like-minded individuals who don’t see what’s coming on Tuesday. “When hell freezes over.” I guess it’s gonna be a chilly day. I came here through redstate.com, who linked to Tanya’s site. Because I like to see every angle of things, I read conservative, moderate, and liberal blogs. You all might give it a try sometime. Get out of your comfort zone willingly.
Not a single word I’ve said about myself is inaccurate in the slightest way. But yet I must be an imaginary person, a plant, etc. How fucking ridiculous is that?
McCain is going to get rolled specifically because he lost people like me. He picked a moron for a vice president, and he gave up on just about every single thing he supposedly believed in. Now we’re supposed to vote for him on the premise, as the Economist put it, that he doesn’t believe a single thing he says?
Anyway, I was invited to come here by Og. I came here, I’ve given some context to myself, I think I’ve been pretty reasonable, etc. If the goal of this site is to get people in violent agreement to sit around and circle jerk each other, I won’t let the door hit myself in the ass. If you have even the slightest interest in hearing what a moderate viewpoint looks like, I’ll be back.
By the way, I am getting the same spam treatment on my home computer, so it has nothing to do with my company’s IP address. And my company’s publically traded, so I doubt there are known spammers associated with it, but I guess anything’s possible.
You may be in a hut in afghanistan for all I know, but you’re posting from the same IP you posted from yesterday, which is what it’s catching.
Oh, and Palin is a moron? What are your accomplisments, Tom? Are you the governor of your state? have you stopped millions of dollars of federal, state and local pork?
Please. Tom, you, as I have established earlier, are a moron, as you have chosen your “feelings” over facts. You use the word as an epithet, I use it as an accurately descriptive term.
he gave up on just about every single thing he supposedly believed in.
The conservatives weren’t conservative enough, so you decided to support the single most liberal senator in decades, instead.
No, you’re not astroturf. Really.
Because I like to see every angle of things, I read conservative, moderate, and liberal blogs. You all might give it a try sometime.
The reason I completely ignored you on my site, was because you left a comment when you clearly hadn’t read the entry, or the linked article. You just skimmed the excerpt at redstate and presumed that you knew it all.
So try not to dislocate your shoulder, patting yourself on the back, Captain Open-Minded. Clicking on links and leaving trollish comments isn’t the same thing as “reading.”
Tanya, I just… wow.
Tom, you just got bitchslapped by a girly girl!
Question: Are you going to Disney World, or instead having a nice hot steaming cup of STFU?
