Studs Terkel died last week.
yeah, he was a socialist asshole- in a recent interview he stated
“The big problem is that there’s no memory of the past. Our hero is the free market. People forget how the free market fell on its face way back in the Depression. And how the nation pleaded with its government and got help. “
Which shows you that age isn’t a guarantee of wisdom.
Still, I liked his writing style. Seeya, Studs, you had a good long run.

Yep, and that “help” apparently lengthened the depression by about ten or so years according to a recent study.
yeah, EMDFL, the “help” did a lot more harm than good, and a lot of people starved to death in the process, the inevitable result of Socialism.
Tom, I’m not Dick. Trust me. I’d love for that to be true, but it is obvious to anyone who can read that Dick’s writing style is so far removed from mine that his posts and mine could only come from one person if that person was a total schizophrenic- and i assure you that I am boringly sane.
I won’t carry on a conversation with you in private, regarding politics. If you want to talk cars, or cameras, or shotguns, or whatever, I’m good to go- but I already know everything I need to know about your politics, and the only reason to discuss them is to provide my readers with some amusement. I’m sorry about the spam filters, I really am. I do make an effort to de-spam every comment that you make, but Spam Karma just apparently has your number.
