I’d like to say
that I thought McCain had a chance, and that there was hope for the country, but I don’t have that hope.
I know that I will survive no matter what, because I’m that guy- I win, and I move on. I can grow/cook/kill/preserve my own food and those skills are prime and ready to use. I won’t starve. I also have a lot of useful skills that will keep money coming in. In the meantime we have to figure out how to keep the people who haven’t got those skills alive.
I have a lot of friends who live paycheck to paycheck, and have no skills marketable in a barter economy- I will do my best to see they get fed as often as I can feed them and their cars run, and their bills get paid, until this is over. Once the small businesses that support the country are hammered flat by Obama taxation, we’ll need some people around to rebuild.
No, nothing will change- for a while. Then the morons who are voting Obama today will begin to reap what they’ve sown. Pitiably, I will also have to reap it, though I did not sow it.
Meanwhile, look at this and be comforted that decent people still live.

That new party ought to be self limiting. Once you join it, you almost HAVE to play by the rules.
By the way, what’s crawled up your ass? It’s still early isn’t it?
Sorry, weet, I’d love to be optomistic but I’m pretty confident McCain is gonna lose. Nobody,as Mencken said, ever went broke underestimating the intelligence of the American public.
It’s only 3 PM MST and you’re going with CNN’s predictions?
I’m bitterly clinging to my optimism and my belief that an 80% non-response rate renders pre-election polls invalid. I also hope our sense of self-preservation is not completely gone.
And even if I’m wrong, I had one fewer day of despondence than you did.
I’m not despindent, I’m fatalistic., And I’m one day closer to dealing with the evil than you are.
You always out maneuver me in our tactical dances of perception, Og my nemesis.
But one day, I will best you!
LOL! Cool.
