Gun Show.
Tomorrow, Dallas Fort Worth.
Toys…
**Update**
Wow, either I’ve lost my mind, or everybody else on the planet has lost theirs. No Rock River stuff to be seen anywhere, unless it was hidden in plain sight, which could easily be the case in my advanced age.
What was there was far overpriced, all the way to the point of ridiculous.
So what do I do? Nothing.
If the case ever comes up, I’ll simply do it the tried and true, old fashioned way, and pick up one from a dead guy.

I thought the Motorcycle show was in Dallas this weekend, and the Gun show is in Fort Worth?
It is Aaron, my mistake.
that could explain why you couldn’t find guns.
“What was there was far overpriced, all the way to the point of ridiculous.”
Well, the Chosen One did promise change, after all…
There was a show this weekend near Pittsburgh, and reports complained that no one was buying with cash. Everything flying from the vendors, but little face-to-face sales since it was all put on the plastic. A friend who went was trying to get out from under some un-needed pump shotguns, and pick up a new pistol. No buyers had cash, just credit cards. He had to sell the guns through a dealer friend, and they sold for more than he was trying to get yesterday in a cash deal. My buddy got his price, the FFL got commission, and the Credit Card Company got their 3%.
And the Buyers didn’t seem to care.
I had to listen to him complain about how the dealers were scalping the crowd, and how the stupid buyers were passing up great deals on quality conventional firearms for overpriced Tactical trash, and all the mall ninja add-ons that they bought up without a clue to their utility or use. Panic buying.
The way it is going up here, I am sitting on a mountain of mediocre stuff that should turn into a goldmine at the show in January.
It’s panic buying, plain and simple. Fear is driving the prices up.

Lakeland, FL sayurday and sunday, showed up sunday PM, slim pickens, and not the music, busy and folks buying, I got bupkiss, but don’t need much.
I went to the same show as Dick, with about the same results.
At the whole show, I saw SEVEN SKS rifles, with prices as high as $575. Last show I was at (earlier this year), it seemed like any given TABLE would have at least 7 rifles, most in the $200-300 range.
Very few AKs compared to prior shows. Very few surplus ammo vendors, with outrageous prices, and even fewer magazine vendors. Prices seemed reasonable on full-cap pistol mags so far, but not much choice.
All in all, kinda disturbing and disappointing day.
