If you want to force a gay agenda on anyone, your trouble has nothing to do with you being gay, your trouble is that you are an asshole. I’m 100% tolerant of gays, and I like all the ones I know personally just fine. I’m not tolerant of assholes, whatever they like to do in the bedroom.
When gay people learn that it is their relationship that matters, and not the approval of the state, or the church, and that forcing the state or church to accept them will gain them no new friends, then they will be able to be more integrated into the world. This is the Jesse Jackson “God forbid we promote unity because then we don’t have jobs anymore” school of diplomacy.

Too bad the agenda in not actually about marriage. The agenda is about the perceived right to be accepted as normal and “not sinful.”
Sorry, but 1.3% of a population won’t register as “normal” on any scale. And with the diminishing influence of the Church, why do they care what the Church thinks of them?
If they could just embrace the new and elitist view of atheism, since we all know gays are smarter than the average person, they could set a whole new frontier of Hollywood influence.
And if the state wants to regulate Sacraments, why not have the State say a few words over our death bed. I mean, besides, “Pay up!”
Joan, it seems to me that the whole idea is to use “marriage” as a tool to smash churches. And it seems to be working.
It continues to amaze me that anyone would think the way you change hearts and minds is to first (metaphorically, at least) beat the hell out of people who don’t agree with you.
I guess they’re not as concerened about hearts and minds as they are about having their own way.

Heck, it’s illegal to criticize homosexuality in Sweden. Not just the people, the act. It’s defined as hate speech. And Swedish ministers are forced to perform gay marriages, lest they get charged with discrimination. When they say that no one will be forced to perform or recognize gay marriage if it gets a foothold here if it conflicts with their 1000’s of years old religious beliefs, they’re lying.
It used to be, they claimed all they wanted is for us to let them carry on in private, and not hound them. The more they push, the more I go from not caring to not being able to stand the bunch.
If the agenda is to smash churches I wish they’d turn their atention on that Scientahootchiemama tax-evasion thingy-churchish…
