Gone but not forgotten
Kim and Connie are gone from the blogosphere.
I fully expect them to stay gone, because I know what their lives are like, and I don’t envy them. I am also pleased to see them get back some of their own lives.
Blogging for me is utterly effortless. Anyone who knows me well, knows that if I had to expend any amount of effort I would shut it down instantly. I sit down at the end- or beginning- of a day, and this shit just spews forth. I suppose it shows. I’m not here to entertain you, I’m here to entertain me. If you’re entertained, that’s wonderful, and i thank you for your patronage. If not, well, I am neither concerned nor surprised. I never, after all, promised you a rose garden.
Anyway, Kim and Connie actually expended energy and effort to do their stuff, and if I had to do that I’d never blog. I appreciate what they’ve done, and I’m sorry to see them go.
On the other side of this, their voices will not be silent, just because they’re not blogging. They haven’t died, just chosen to live their own lives.
Now I need someone to step up to the plate to fill the gap in my blogroll.

I’ll miss their blogs.
I hope I run across them in comments elsewhere.
They were both a constant read of mine as well. That much talent and class in one family (and they shared with the rest of us!) is simply amazing. I (have)wish them well.
Since I missed posting a final goodbye on Kim’s blog by a red cunthair (see comments to Og post below on measurements), I’ll say goodbye here in hope that the Imperial Firearms Advisor will read it.
Kim, yours was the first blog that I read, and it has been bookmarked ever since. I almost feel as if I’ve lost a member of the family, since I looked at the blog every day. Thank you VERY, VERY much for everything that you did for all of us – for the information, the commentary, the pictures (gun porn & other), the ruminations about life and, most of all, for the vision you have for the Nation of Riflemen.
Kim, you’re right that we all need to stand on our own 2 feet and do what is necessary to re-create the NOR. I’ve done some and will do more, inspired by your example. You’ve done your adopted country an invaluable service…and deserve the Medal of Freedom (just don’t hold your breath waiting for the Obamanoid to give it to you).
I’ll miss your blog terribly, and I hope that someday you’ll make a come-back, even if only on a once-a-week or so basis. Not matter, you deserve your blog-tirement.
Live long and well, and enjoy your fine family.
Sam Adams (on the ex-blog)
I’d recommend Xavier and Brigid to help fill the empty hole, Og.
Bob
I never thought to expend any effort with my blogging. Who knows? It might be worth a crap if I did.
The difference, Vman, is that you spew out that faultless prose, inventing words where you need them, to mesmerize us all with your brilliance.
