Investments
You can buy a decent used car for $15,000, and in five years it will be worth $500. Or you can buy a Merkel side by side in 500 Nitro Express, and in five years, as long as you take care of it, it will be worth the same, or more than you paid for it.
Just something to think about.

“You can never pay too much for a gun, you can only buy it too soon”. Words to live by.
A friend told a story about a co-worker who would buy a gun every time he had extra cash from a bonus, overtime, or whatever. Bob asked him about it, “Why all the guns, you don’t even shoot?” The co-worker replied that the guns were his retirement account. Sure enough, when he retired, he’d periodically pull out a gun and sell it, just like others cash in CDs.
A car is seldom an investment, especially one you actually use. However, you can use a gun often and it will probably still appreciate as long as it’s not abused.
How right you are. I’ve got a Browning Superposed skeet/skeet, round knob, long tang, that I picked up about 15 years ago used and in great condition. I’ve taken care of it but shot the sh*t out of it in the intervening years and I’ve been offered signicantly more than I paid for it.
I would hazard a guess that the merkel is slightly more that 15,000.
I do agreee with the gun thing, just why ever sell them?
No, the Merkel start at about ten. For 12k you can get a nice 500 nitro.
This is how I’ve justified any new firearm that manages to follow me home.
What’s NADA loan value on the Merkel? The bank wants to know…
On the Cabelas website, Tam. 12k. it’s like looking at pictures of crack.
