The Benchmark
Webster gives several definitions for Bench Mark, but this is the one I like best:
something that serves as a standard by which others may be measured or judged
In our world, we have several people who have served as Benchmarks. Hitler is the benchmark against which all other evil men are measured, though he hardly holds a candle to other socialists in many respects. benedict arnold? the benchmark in traitorous behavior. The list is long.
Now we have a new benchmark, a line to be scribed on our bench to show how ignorant a nation can be, and how worthless a single human can be, and that benchmark is Obama. Take out your knife, scribe a line, rub in some cigarrette ash to darken it, pencil “obama” next to the line. Gonna be an interesting four years.

I too am a little taken a back at how many people are in love with Obama. I was at Mcdonalds having breakfast with an old tenant of mine and he was singing the praises of Obama. There have been other examples, but considering the fact that he has less experience than any other candidate (Jimmy Carter came close) who went for the POTUS, I would have expected more muted responses.
Ah well. The Roman Empire had many very bad rulers and it took much more than one bad administration to destroy that long-enduring civilization. But if our Education System, Hollywood and the Mainstream Media continue with their cultural, social and religious meddling, the US will not last as long.

The absolute value of Obama’s uselessness is non-zero with a negative sign. If you use him as a benchmark, future examples will need to rise considerably just to reach zero.

One thing to recall about the Romans is that they were a republic with limited elective capability. I’ve also not read much about how the guts of the empire worked. At least beyond the best and strongest military known at that time.
