ELGS report
Spent a bit of time this morning at a local ELGS, and while it was unspeakably lame, I did manage to find a nice waistband holster for the Mustang:

It fits nicely in the small of my back, it’s comfortable, and it’s soft. The firearm is protected and so is my backside. It’s ambidextrous, you can clip it on the left or right, which means I can clip it inside the waistband of my pants and only the grip protrudes above the waistband. It’s very nice, and it was $13; it’s not the kind of form fitting quicksdraw holster you might think of for an auto, but it’s a perfect concealed carry holster, and I’m happy I have it. I also got a nice gun bag for a long rifle +scope, $20.
Otherwise, I’m gonna have to start going to better gunshows, this one sucked on ice. The same shit I’ve seen at 20 other gunshows. I’m really looking for a K31 in nice shape, and I’m reluctant to buy one online.

Hello. I hear you are posting at an actual shooting blog, as well. Is this true? Then don’t you think this sort of thing would do well CROSS POSTED THE FUCK OVER THERE, TOO??!!?!
:)
Jees, OK already! I just didn’t want to be seen as a blog hog. Done.
Wad has a similar holster for his carry. Fits smaller firearms better than thicker ones. Colt 45 and Glock 17 fit nicely, Sig 226, not so good. At least not for concealed carry.
And Wad sympathizes about the GunShow sitch in NWI. It sucks rocks, royal. If I want Beef Jerky, I’ll go to the store, not a gun show.
Wad: when you and I gonna drag Broad to a range?
Og,
Beware of spinal injuries with a small of the back carry. I have heard of a few from falls.
I still like that carry position and use it in spite of the risk, just thought you should be aware of the possibility.
As to a REAL gun show : Wanenmakers in Tulsa!
11 Acres and only 2% non gun/knife stuff.
Next show first weekend in April then the 22-23 of October. I’ll be there in October.
You will NEED two days to see most (not all) of it.
It is 1,500 miles away for me and I generally go to both shows. My boss already knows not to look for me those weekends. He has the schedule posted on his desk.

Deb’s in Hammond isn’t bad for an hour. Broad could prolly go to that. Though, she could still be heard over the shots.
And it’s quite loud in there when hot loaded .38 rounds are being fired next to you.
Wad is still pissed that the Indiana DNR changed all the rules at the ranges so it’s not possible to shoot… Ummm.. Anything you want at the range.
First time Wad went out, Wad got to shoot an old TV. some old schoolbooks, an old propane tank, and water jugs.
Of all of that, the only thing Wad brought was the waer jugs. Everything else was already on the range.
Wad nailed the H2O from about 300 Meters with an FN-FAL on the first shot. Wad was pleased.
Fast forward a year. Paper targets only. No “combat” shooting drills, nothing fun.
Dammit.
