Havana’s Best
One good thing that just might come out of the Obama Administration, and I would welcome it with open arms.
In my years, I have had the privilege of four separate Havana Cigars on four separate occasions. I for one, would like to have this become a permanent privilege.
Just sayin’. Anybody who’d like to torch me, feel free.

You can get cuban cigars in Canada. As I’ve made at least one trip there a year for the last 20, it’s a no brainer- yes, I’d LOVE to be able to get cubans regularly.
Next time we get together, I’m gonna be checkin’ your pockets.
Here, here. And once the embargo ends, we send a goodwill mission. Complete with Oprah and Dr. Phil, Jerry Springer, American Idol, Howard Stern, Judge Judy, and the View. All to do shows starring Cuban locals.
If that doesn’t f’em up enough and get their country to fall apart, nothing will.
I smuggled two cases of cigars back from La Havana a few years ago (before I knew the fines attached!) and they were so-so. Could be because I bought them on the down-low and they likely came from someone’s home stash, sans humidor. Dry and less than pleasant, but the cred attached to them was worth a promotion at one job.
But the sheer panache of smoking one is truly the cat’s ass!
I buy them when I’m in canada, and invariably smoke them there too.
I just want to have the pleasure of sitting on my back porch while enjoying one.
I don’t know much about them, but I do enjoy a good Dominican cigar now and then. If Cubans are better, I’d really like to try one sometime.
I think that bringing Cuba back into the Free World may be better accomplished by overwhelming the island with American trade rather than the current embargo.
I agree with both mts and Slash – cutting them off at the knees ain’t worked since before I was born; let’s overwhelm them with the more mind-melting portions of our capitalism.
And maybe get some good cigars in exchange; I’d really like to try one sometime.
I am all for opening up Cuba for all. God knows the embargo has done so much to remove their government and it worked so well . . .
Every cuban I’ve had in the states was a lousy cigar. Over in Germany I got some good ones, but never went to Canada to personally buy them.
Friends know I like Cigars and think they are doing me a favor by sneaking one or two back when they go gambling or to the shows up in Toronto.
Of course, they buy the bottom of the barrel trade cigars, ones that have been abused but are “real Cuban”.. and risk fines for bringing dried junk back to the states.
Ahh well it is the thought that counts I guess. I try to savor them with them and praise their efforts.
