No disasters
blood tests just showed elevated levels of uric acids, have to get my ass back on allopurinol. Much organ meat and game meat as I eat I don’t need gout. Minor levels of muscle enzymes. Doc says I need to drink more milk. I’ve been kind of cutting back ( I LOVE milk) because I think I’ve become a little lactose intolerant and it gives me the most remarkable volumes of gas- but now I have an excuse. ‘Doc says I need the Vitamin D, honey. Sorry about the farts”

I fight gout. If you stat having problems with it, just eat some cherries everyday. what ever is in their juice neutralizes the cause of gout.
Glad it’s nothing serious. In other news, I still hate doing sheetrock work.
ah, drywall. that helps splain the foot.
rd yeah rivrdog taught me the cherries thing. its good when you remember to do it.
Pick up a bottle of lactaid pills, dude.
and ruin my farts? no way.
Yeah, do the cherries and keep up with the Allopurinol, because you DO NOT want to end up on colchicine, especially with your surgery.
Happy to hear the doc say it isn’t the end of the world. Whole milk in larger amounts gets me going too (and so do onions ‘specially sweet yellows … damn it). Wonder if Chocolate milk would cover your milk options? That doesn’t seem to cause nearly the same gastric distress as regular whole does for me. Just a thought YMMV.
Good to hear you didn’t bring home any African cooties, or have anything else bad. Would eating cottage cheese also count for your need for more milk? It creates more gas, and makes for a really acrid sulfur smell. Kind of like eggs and milk.
you guys act like farting is bad!
Only when my wife does it.
Am I the only one who’s mind went the wrong place when Chris said “do the cherries”?
Good news overall. Happy for ya.
Ted,
No, you’re not the only one. Heh.
“you guys act like farting is bad! ”
Depends on the size of the room your in.
Nice to hear its only gout, Og. I’ve heard some scary stories of overseas tourist afflictions.
Allopurinal, yeah. I’ve never had gout symptoms, so presumably allopurinal’s working out for me. Vitamin D, the doc says he’s rarely seen lower levels, so ergocalciferol in big doses once a week.
Farting is not bad. Indeed, it is a neglected art form. Just listen to the old George Carlin bit on same.
Now if you had ever been in the same room as one of my fellow Sailors from NAS Dallas days … Steve could empty out a living room with just one “toot”…even pissed off the dog.
Og…the “vitamin D” in milk is synthetic, and is probably causing you a lot of problems. If you want the real thing, get cod liver oil. Not “fish oil.” COD LIVER OIL. Hard to find since the fish oil craze has struck, but it is still available. I get mine from amazon.com . No wonder you are having gas attacks.
Listen, people, Farting is NOT A BUG it is a FEATURE.
Damn, your last statement gives a whole new meaning to “Blue screen of death”. *grin*
” Farting is NOT A BUG it is a FEATURE. ”
…unless you’re in a telephone booth.
I LOOOVE fragmented sentences…
