The K31
as much as I lurves it
has developed an annoying malf, and it is Gonna Get Fixed.
If you cock the rifle manually, it gives you a solid and reliable two stage trigger pull, but if you cycle it nomally, the trigger doesn’t seem to have two stages and will break unexpectedly.
Now, I can SHOOT this rifle. And I am got-damned if a freakish trigger is going to change that.
SO I have to drill out a few cases and seat some bullets to make action proving dummies.
I don’t know if it’s dirt or a weak spring or what, but I will have this SOB working properly by the next NPCCC military match.

Manual cocking is so overrated.
But I guess it can be better than nothing ;-)
Hi All ~ Thats one of those swiss jobbies isn’t it Neander pundit? With the funny non-bolt action?
I bet I could make amillion dollars if I started up a factory that made those things. They are the absolute funnest guns out there and accurate as all blazes. They are tough too and I will be interested to see what is troubling this one. Good luck and give them hell on at the shoot!
Sounds almost like something in the works isn’t fitted right, or a bit of crud is causing the cocking piece to not fully set when the bolt is worked
Why don’t you ask about the issue on http://swissrifles.com?
My money is on the weak mainspring. Of course having a gunsmith check it out is a good idea (your sear might be worn), but considering the age of the rifles, I’d contact Guisan who frequents the Swissrifles.com Forum and see if he can fix you up with a new spring. Trust me, from first hand experience, a new spring makes a world of difference.
