Something I’d like to know
A lot of our climate is dependant on wind, or at least irretrievably tied to it.
Wind generators harvest power from the wind. What happens to our (supposedly fragile) environment after the billions of watts of energy are stolen from the wind?

It goes into the doldrums?
I’ve wondered that my self. Though it seems the wind is caused by sun light heating area and other areas cooling so it is possible you could use it and not kill it. However I would have to think acres and acres of wind farms would have some effect.
My brain hurts.
Gravity shuts off and we’re all flung off into space at 2000000 MPH.
I have the dream where this happens at least once a month.
Grau, I understand. Mine is the accordion thing. And the midgets, always the damned midgets.
Midgets getting flung off into space at 2 million mph???
Accordion playing midgets. Naked, painted to look like dalmations. Nazi dalmations.
These dreams are all “directed” by Tim Burton or Torentino? And more importantly, what are you smokin and where can I get some!
I had dreams that weird after a snootful of rotgut Mezcal down in PV in ’06.
What songs do they play, Og? It’s all about the music, not the musicians.
I favor wind power where it is economically justified.
There are a couple of miles of relatively thick air above the level directly affected by windmills, so I find it pretty hard to believe they will remove any portion of the energy from the atmosphere that is significant from the point of view of affecting worldwide climate.

The point i’m making is precisely that we don’t know.
Rivrdog: Depends. if I’ve been eating lasagna, it’s the “Catalina Magdalena Hoopensteiner Wallendiner Hogan Logan Bogan was her name” song. If I’ve had anything to drink, it’s the “fugue in D minor”

Me, I’m waiting for the greenies to tell me how they’re planning to store all that wind and sun power for the times when the wind ain’t blowin’ and the sun ain’t shinin’.
Kind of off subject, but if Comrade Obamavich starts giving tax breaks for owning “green” vehicles, I wonder how much I could get for having a rickshaw pulled by illegal Mexicans… and if I’d have to restrict their burrito intake to make them “low emission”
C’mon, Og. Quit bogarting the good stuff and share. Good Lord, man, your dreams would make a bestseller or a great movie to watch when your wasted!
Nazi dalmations? Never.
On a related, but serious (considering the current direction of the comments here) note:
If it’s not OK for the USN to use sonar because it kills/disorients/causes flatulence in whales, then why is it OK for us to consider setting up big ass wave-power generation devices which will no doubt have some impact on marine life?
Nevermind. It’s “Green Science”, it doesn’t have to make sense.
