Might take a couple days to get to the bowels, and then he’s either coming back up, or coming out the other end of hell. Which means he’ll emerge in Dick Daley’s office. or orifice. Whatever.

I would expect he is in a special hell reserved for all followers of the central planning model. With his help most of the best and the brightest got killed. Might explain why O’s momma took up with an illegal immigrant in the first place.

I’m reading About Face by Col. Hackworth right now and I just got past the part where the “Whiz Kids” are mentioned.

I was gonna hold fire on this one, but I’ve gotta agree with Libs…too bad it was about 45 years too late.
McNamara didn’t hit me directly; I was born in the middle of the Vietnam war. But I’ve read an awful lot about how bad he screwed things up, and have a healthy dose of yuck for him and his kind.
Even at that, I’m a little surprised at how much HATE there is for him… if his burial site is ever made public, it seems as though that will be the most well-watered spot in America, as vets from my Dad’s generation line up to piss on it.
I shouldn’t be surprised; he got a lot of people Dad’s generation killed and he probably deserves the hatred he’s garnered. I’ve just never seen this kind of “f*ck him, glad he’s dead” before.
Actually, the more I think of it, I just may join the line of vets to use the “McNamara Urinal”, and maybe even take Alex with me (he’s trying to learn to “pee-pee” like a big boy). A lot of Dad’s friends got hurt or crippled (the ones I met) or killed (the ones I never got to meet) because of McNamara and his bean-counters.
Yeah, Hell won’t spit him back… they’ve been saving a special seat for him for nearly 40 years. Hopefully fully-equipped with a really spiky anal probe.
Few years back there was an interview with him on tv, and I caught part of it and read some of the transcript later. He said that he’d decided early on ‘We cannot win this war’, and yet kept telling Johnson we could, and saying publicly we could. When asked why, he said “The President believed we could win and I had to support him.”
If I’d had a way to kick him in the balls, I would have. If he was telling the truth, ‘supporting’ the President would have meant telling him what you actually thought, and resigning rather than carry on if need be; but he apparently wanted to stay SECDEF too much for something like honor to get in the way.
Wouldn’t surprise me if it happened.
