What a strawman is, here’s a classic example:

WHen you have an indefensable position, and you can’t count on your enemies overlooking it, you attack it yourself with someone who hasn’t any interest or ability to defend his position. So it looks like you have successfully defended the stupid position when in fact you have just disallowed useful comment. Sort of like the glowebull warmening “debate” where the “Science is settled”. Yeah, right.
