Nice gear
I have been using giveaway luggage as range bags forever. My current range bag is a POS from Cabelas.
I’ve often thought it would be nice to have one of those nice belt leather range bags, but they all seem to cost $400 and they’re made in china. I wouldn’t mind so much but for the china bit.
A friend of mine does some work for a company that makes military tough bags, and I’m thinking about buying some of their gear. The website is horrible, but the gear is incredible. Plus, if you order anything, there’s supposed to be a box you can fill in for discounts- type in “tubadiva” and get a little sumpin’ sumpin. I’m looking at the Sling Kit as a range bag, it looks perfect for almost everything, compartments to hold binoculars and earmuffs and that giant bottle of Hoppes.
Also, my friend Ken has his website back up (mostly) with a little e-commerce contained therein. If you need a set of grips for that Smith, or Colt, or Beretta,go take a look at these.

Maxpedition makes some bags that are of EXCELLENT quality, and tougher than hell. I have one of there versapacks as a carry bag.
For range bags…. pistols and ammo go in a medium size bag I was given over 15 years ago. It still works, so I ain’t buyin a new one.
For rifle and matches, a big ‘ol rolling tool bag from Lowes with an extension handle, inner and outer pockets… and cost less than $30.
It holds 100 round ammo cases, a spotting scope, cleaning gear, and all the other junk that’s handy to have along.
Thanks for the head’s up to your Buddy’s site. Just getting ready to buy some grips for a round butt K frame and most of what is out there is disappointing – all smooth grips/fake ivory or outrageous prices. He has one heck of a selection, great prices, and he knows how to checker! I may grab a set for the 1911 and for the N frame while I am at it.
I was working on some of his checkering machines today, as a matter of fact. yes, he does know how to checker. Damned nicely, I might add.
I know how it is. I solved it by buying those great big plastic tupperware containers and they worked great. Plus if that dam n bottle of solvent breaks – you just empty them out and wash them out.
My daughter used to have this filthy old tom cat that would shit in duffels or purses or anything humans used to carry things in. I nearly shot him when I bought one of those fancy hard gun cases when they first came out on the market because he shat in that too when I left it open one day. Daughters don’t realize the stuff fathers put up with to make them happy sometimes. The cat couldn’t open the tupperwares I kept my gun junk in.
spend monry on your guns Neanderpundit, not your junk.
Rusty, I already got almost all the guns I want.
