Countdown to mow!
Back in March, I decided that it might be a good idea to get my old lawnmower back up to snuff for the coming season. So I yanked the deck and dismantled it, taking apart the aging and decrepit spindles and sending the deck itself off to be sandblasted. They did a nice job, I had new rails made for the sides, and the first week fo April, I ordered the parts to rebuild the spindles.
And they arrived Friday.
I have been mowing with the pushmower, and also with the neighbors mower which I borrowed many times. But now I am within striking distance of having this thing completed. I even got new blades.
The words I have for the place where I ordered the parts, that took from April to July to ship, I cannot even type. Having exhausted my normal supply of expletives, I had to create new ones, for which no letters exist in english to type the words. First of all, I would need another “Shift” type key that said “Scream” instead of “shift”. Then I would need letters that described the sound of ultimate human frustration at having ordered something in plenty of time and had the supplier dick around for ages until the summer is almost over. Finally, I would need to have a word that described the fury of a thousand white hot suns. And that’s just to say “hello”.
Anyway, God Willing, I will mow my own lawn with my own tractor this weekend.

Put new blades on mine, plus a new battery and changed the oil. The typical stuff.
I know I’m usually behind the times, but when did you reactivate your blog, Og?
To think of all these months I haven’t turned on my computer because I knew, KNEW the internet was only an empty husk where the blogs stood tenantless and the sheeted dead did gibber and squeak in the Roman streets.
At any rate, I’m glad that a) you’re back, and b) I know it.
Couplea months ago. Decided if I couldn’t bitch I’d explode.
I’ve always opined that bitching is like an enema for the soul. Keeps everything clean and working.
