has surgery this afternoon. Keep a happy thought.

UPDATE:

Ken is out of surgery and resting comfortably. I don’t know much else about his condition or how long he is expected to take to recover.

The needle biopsy showed he has Multiple Myeloma. This is encouraging news compared to the fear that he had renal cell carcinoma. Apparently the renal cell is a major disastor, while Multiple Myeloma is a lesser disaster.

This allowed them to operate, knowing that there were vascular risks but with a full knowledge of what they were. So the surgery apparently went well. Now the recovery from the hip replacement, and treatment of the cancer can begin.

Thanks, folks, I know your prayers have helped, and as this is only the beginning, I ask you to keep Ken in your thoughts.
