Steam engines; I recall a steam engine when I was diving on a freighter sunk by U boat off N. Carolina. The wreck laid on the bottom upright. It had rusted away & had opened up & out. (frames & plates fell out away from the wreck) Standing proud in the the middle of the wreck was a massive triple expansion steam engine. Shaft visible virtually all the way to the stern. I spent nearly the whole dive marvelling at it. An impressive piece of engineering even at 110 ft down.

Edison’s big problem was that he developed DC power and was stuck on it. He let his assistant, Telsa, go over to Westinghouse and sell his AC ideas.
Want to see a lot of old steam engines and old tractors go to Mt Pleasnt Ioaw. They have something for a whole week. Hundreds of them all puffing away is pretty neat.
Ol Threshers Reunion is the name of the shing dig.

Didn’t hit a single steam fest this summer. Too much going on.
Next year. Wonder if there would be any interest in blog meet/steam engines?
