There is a lot of bullshit
parading around masquerading as being “for the common good”
Let me tell you something.
Seatbelt laws. Gun Control. National health Care. Indiana’s deer hunting restrictions. Almost everything in Osha, Niosh, and MSA. All the rules and regulations and bullshit out there is designed to do one thing: Protect the unrepentant and brutally stupid. At this it all fails. The stupid are infinitely ingenous, and cannot be protected form theirselves.
The sole thing all this bullshit DOES to, is to inconvenience the intelligent. bastards. Dick says to keep their names on post it notes, and remember comes the revolution. I just want to make sure they go in the bottom of the hole, so they can’t tunnel their way through the bodies and escape.

Very true. In this state (SD) you must wear a seat belt, by law, yet don’t have to wear a helmet while driving or riding on a motorcycle, if you are an adult. And children must be in a child seat in an automobile, yet are free to ride on the back of motorcycles, with a helmet on.
Yeah, that makes a lot of freeking sense.
If tomorrow, the Sturgis Motorcycle Rally was outlawed, we could change that law. But hey, no one wants to kill the whore who brings in the golden egg, huh Sturgis?
Dennis, one of my favorite bike t-shirts, black of course, says,
“Fuck Sturgis, I’m Staying Home”
Wow. For such a short post there is an assload of basic truth in there.
I like Dick’s, make a list and check it twice idea. Why should they be the only ones with a list?
We need to simply remove all warning stickers on products and let Darwin thin the herd.
Along the same line, a somewhat gratifying story.
In the mid 80’s Canukistan went officially bi-lingual. My wife’s great uncle, an Icelandic Immigrant who owned a fish processing co. in Vancouver had just spend many thousands of dollars on a year’s supply of packaging for his various fishy goodnesses. Fishy goodnesses that were all sold in the USA and were printed in English. A groupspeak inspector from the Canukistani Supreme Soviet came to the fish plant to inform Uncle Juli that he’d have to have it all redone in Froggish as well. Uncle Juli hit the roof as this was on top of many thousands he’d just spent on unnecessary gov’t mandated safety “improvements”.
Uncle Juli was at the time, 89 years old, 6’4″ tall, weighing a svelte 275 very muscular pounds. He grabbed the apparatchik by the nape and belt, spun him around, frog-marched him to the bull rail on the dock, then air mailed him twenty some feet into the filthy waters of Vancouver Harbor (the tide was out).
In his charming Icelandic accent Juli bellowed that if he saw anyone try to fish the bastard out of the drink, they’d join him. The guy had to swim nearly a quarter of a mile to find a safe place to get out of the water.
Uncle Juli closed his business and retired that Friday putting 25 long time employees out of work. He told them they could thank their member of parliament.
Gerry N.
Damn Gerry. That sux.
Love the shirt Dick.
“for the common good”
“for the children”
Two phrases which, when uttered in my vicinity, cause an immediate reflex reaction:
One hand covering my wallet, the other covering my 9mm.
I think I would have liked Uncle Juli.
