if you dont eat
For two or three days because you have some stomach bug, the first food shouldn’t be gyros.
Precious little oxygen in the house now.
Burning brakes dipped in rancid hog intestines about describes it.

Damn, sounds down right tasty!! We had homemade chili here (my sweetieheart was slow cooking with mad abandon today), so between both our households, the green house gas emissions should be enough to make all those eco-wienies green with … hmmmm envy doesn’t seem to be quite the right word.
Glad to hear you are feeling better.
Mmmmm!, hog intestines! Fill ’em up with mechanically macerated bits of previously livin’ thin’s, salt and spices and smoke ’em.
Now that’s some good eatin’.
Burnt brake linings? Not so much.

What is/are/a gyros?
I’m thinking…. something not commonly found in my area?
Gyros isa giant beef/lamb sausage (like a half a meter tall) that is roasted on a vertical spit. Thin, crispy strips of meat are sliced off the sausage and placed on a circle of thin bread called “pita” with tomatoes, onions, and a cucumber sauce. In europe they are sometimes called Doner Kebab.
Greek smoked meat, Fiona. It and Retsina are the best reason to attend the annual Greek Festival in your area.
Nyah, Nyah, Nyah…just got back from two weeks in Old Mexico and didn’t ever get Montezuma’s. First time for THAT.
Only thing different I did was use Airborne this time, about 4-5 times before leaving, and about 3 times before I got back on the big silver bird to leave.
All the usual insults of eating like a native, drinking like a sailor on leave, using toilets with piles of used paper in the wastebin inches away from me (can’t believe that their sewage systems aren’t up to today’s biodegradeable paper yet). None of those things got to my GI tract this time.
Og,
It sounds positively droolsome! We do get the pita sandwiches here. Sometimes also called kebabs sandwiches. lol. But no greek names. And yes, I agree, not something to have on an upset tummy!
Rivrdog,
I appreciate the additional information; thank you! But alas, not much of a greek community in Singapore. No festival, which sounds fantastic!
