Reservation Scamwards
Just got a bill on my Visa card- a card I never use- for some 107 bucks, for ‘Reservation rewards”. Apparently I ‘signed up’ for this when I visited an electronics website. Getting these charges removed is being an inordinate hassle. If you get an email from these mothers, by all means, open it, because it probably means you’re being billed for something you neglected to NOT sign up for.

I’m not certain that it would apply, but I believe there is a federal law that makes “opt out” mailings illegal. It was done as a responce to the old record and book “clubs”.
they’re also illegal by State law in Oregon.

These things piss me off. There’s one that piggybacks off of Proflowers which is why I will never use Proflowers again.
I posted a complaint last year about Easy Saver, and continue to get notifications of new complaints. This is a helpful website.
We had this happen earlier this year. It happened after making a hotel booking through Hotels.com. There was a little check box I did not uncheck that automatically enrolled me in the damn thing. It was easy to get reversed (our bank was very familiar with it).
Good news, Mrs D. I hope to have this resolved soon. I wish that I could absorb $100 in stupidity, but i cannot.
I check my bank every other day for crap like this. They are very good at removing and crediting these things.
Lots of experience….
Some optimist called me in the basement. They told me I got a free cruise no-strings etc. They made the mistake of asking for my credit card number. That’s when the pistol accidentally went off next to the mouthpiece of the phone. Fortunately it were aimed downrange. Oddly enough I haven’t got a soliciting call since.
It can’t last.
