Minwax Antique oil Finish
Reccomended to me by Firehand.
I have to tell you, if you have an oil finished rifle stock you need to try some of this on it. I have never seen a finish as nice from oil- I’ve been using Tung and boiled linseed for ages, and I don’t know how (if at all) this departs from Linseed, but the finish is mind boggling. I cannot take a picture that will do it justice. Just get some and try it.

This is a very good finish. It is more like Tung than Linseed oil in that it hardens completely rather than remaining somewhat soft. It is easier to work with than Tung, and IMO, produces a richer, more lustrous finish.
I know an old Brit #4mk.1 that needs this. Good timing, og, good timing.
Check out this thread on THR about using this product to finish a rifle stock:

I’m using the method described right now on a laminate stock. I still have two more coats to go in the process but it already looks so good, and already feels better than any factory laminate finish I’ve felt.
Indeed a very nice post. At minwax, cabot stain or the specific details and information that you need. Thank you again for writing such a good post.
