Quote of the day
From Joan: (Who I managed not to link to) (Actually I did this from my phone so I’m not that co-ordinated; fixed now, sorry Ms Argghh!!)
At any rate, it’s a testament to the idiocy of the Left, a people who know nothing of farming or husbandry, that they would kill the goose that lays the golden egg. And then cook it. And eat it. And then have fucking protests about the goose who is no longer there and how unfair and selfish of the goose to not resurrect itself by sheer dint of their fervent belief that there is more goose. . . somewhere.

It’s not just the politicians. There’s a huge percentage of the 18-35s who are perfectly fine with being herded like sheep — as long as they’re comfortable and nothing interferes with their TV schedule and their iPhone apps, they’re happy. I have a coworker who freely admits she doesn’t know who the Vice President is, and doesn’t want to know.
Which is just more incentive for me to become as much of an individual as possible. And by “individual”, I mean “not jumping off a bridge just because everyone else is doing it.”
Maybe I should make and sell soap.
Joan, I’d rather you make ammo.
But then again, that’s just me.
Dick: I think she means “Make soap out of the rendered fat of boated politicians” or at least that’s how I see it
Actually, it’s symbolic: Tyler Durden’s line “I make and sell soap” creates an innocent and unthreatening facade for his more, shall we say, unconventional ideas and actions. And that’s what I’m trying to do in my life: Find the conventional and question it. A thoughtless rebel is just as bad as a thoughtless sheep.
In other words, it isn’t what you use to make the soap, it’s why you make it in the first place.
Shh! Let a guy have his fantasies.
Personally I like the story of how obumble and his merry band of thieves have discovered that you can’t sell
G(ov)M vehicles after you force half of your dealerships to close. So now they are asking those dealerships that they closed to re-open. HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA
The stupid just continues to amaze.
From geese to soap?
Eh, I thank ‘ee, Og!
When the youngsters are no longer able to afford their toys, maybe then. But, I fear the opiate of the people is all that keeps tyrants in power. Be that particular drug entertainments or herbs, it has a stultifying effect on the higher passions of truth and Light.
It’s small of me to say I would have liked a link with that honor. . .
;)
(Ed:No, it is not, sorry, fixed now)
Trust me, when the youngsters can’t afford their toys, most of them will pitch a fit for someone else to pay for them.
awesome quote, post & commentaries, people.
This was thoroughly entertaining. But not in the conventional sense, of course. ;)
Shite!!!
If anyone wants me when I am not working at making a living, I’ll be in the reloading / fly tying shed.
-AND- yes, I will be grumbling, a good curmudgeonly bastid more ready to make soap than to sell soap.
At least with reloading and fly-tying, you have something to show at the end of the day besides a color-coded spreadsheet and the sinking feeling that you’re nothing but a cog in a machine making money for someone else.
I’m getting the hell out of here as soon as I possibly can.
