I would do anything for love
but I won’t do that.
Look around you at the ones you love.
Ever think to what lengths you’d go for them?
Would you fight to defend them? Probably.
Would you take a life to defend them? Most likely.
Would you die if it meant they stayed healthy? I suppose so.
Would you willingly give a kidney/other organ or part thereof to help them in time of need? Lots of people do everyday. Would you walk away from your relationship with your loved ones if it meant their improved well-being? Perhaps you would even be strong enough to do that.
I think, what would I not do for my child, my wife? then, like a bag of hammers, it falls on me.
Would you stop smoking? would you eat less, exercise more? Would you be more devoted to your employer so as to improve your financial lot (and therefore, your child’s)? Would you make a point of being home on time to have dinner with your family? Would you put up with your wife/husband’s carping just a bit more so as to maintain harmony at home for your children?
It isn’t the heroic deeds that your loved ones need, it is the small, everyday sacrifices that count. Or, better put, the ones you love need your heroisim in tiny ways, every day.

Yeah. Sometimes it’s some of the little things. And they can seem to be the hardest to take care of at times.

Wise, and beautiful.
Amen to that, brother. It’s not doing the tiny things that hard, it’s doing them everyday, consistently, so they can count on you without even thinking about it. A very worthy goal.
As to the personal health thing, last year I started a plan that works well for me. When the kinder go back to school, which is about August 3 +/-, I go off of everything bad, including snuff and alcohol, until the Christmas parties start in mid December. Then from Christmas to the beginning of summer, I keep the vices to weekends only. Once summer boating season comes, Katy bar the door! And when school starts again, me & my liver are ready to settle down.
Works for me.
