Yes, and I pray daily, my thanks, and my wish that no more will have to make such a sacrifice. I pray for my son who will deploy back to Afghanistan in Aug.I pray for his comrades, and I thank God I live in a country with people willing to make such a sacrifice. May God hold in His hands every single one and bring them Home to us
Yep, I do. One I remember was a guy I trained with, walking down a street in Turkey. Where I’d walked. Killed by a Kurd. They’re are friends now.
I leave today for Ft. Lost in the Woods to see my nephew graduate.
Good post.
Listen to the stories from a Second Class Petty Officer who was on the USS Stark when she was attacked. See the anger, hurt, frustration, and loss in his eyes and his voice, years after the event.
Keep an eye out for, and watch the vet who goes about his (or her) daily tasks, with a bit of a hitch in their step due to shrapnel having invaded their bodies. Yet they don’t complain, don’t demand to be treated any different.
See how a vet reacts when some one says “thank you”. Nine times outta ten, they will blush … answering “I was just doing my job …”.
Look out the front door of the house and see the cold quiet stone, now adorned with flags, some American, some Army, or Navy, Marine, or Air Force.
I won’t forget, for the memories, and the men are around me every day.

Kind of impossible to forget.
Yes.
Yes I do.
I do.
I’d remember even if Obama wanted me to.
That he doesn’t, well, that’s just a bonus and added incentive for me to encourage others..
Yep, I do.
Thanks to all who served.
