I don’t get the massage thing
I mean, the idea of having a woman come to a hotel room and give you a massage is a little creepy to begin with, and frankly, I would consider it inappropriate to have a woman I wasn’t intimate with give me a massage. Besides which, I’m a big guy, and the muscles in my legs alone are the size of large marsupials. The last time I got a professional massage it was in a mens club to which a friend belonged. The masseuse was a big Russian guy with hands the size of a nine pound Armor canned ham, and when he was done, I knoew I’d never need another massage as long as i lived, he did it all at once. I think he may have even cracked a rib, at one point.
Algore isn’t tiny, and while I trust the woman in question does her level best, I doubt that she a: could do a lot of actual good were he to really NEED to be massaged, and b: was there to actually massage him.
Makes you wonder how many other Massage girls this has happened to wth mr Gore.
I know it happens to a lot of massage girls, and it’s stupid sick that they get put in those situations, just trying to make a living.

I’m glad I’m not the only guy out there who thinks this way. I’m old enough and have enough balky parts to need the occasional deep tissue massage but there’s no way I’m letting a woman I’m not married to put her hands on my tender person. Thankfully my lovely wife has the skills and hand strength to actually make me wince from time to time.
I’m sure it’s totally innocent you understand. The laugh notwithstanding.
I’m a geek and happily married and intend to stay that way. Even I know a difference between a massage and a “massage”.
Any big name hotel that employees someone to give massages is not going to provide what Al Gore was looking for.
The proper term for a male massage therapist would be “masseur”. That big Russian would probably work you over again for calling him a woman. :-)
As a former bike racer who has had a few massages, I can assure you that women who have trained in the art have the hand strength to do a proper massage.
I don’t like people touching me. Maybe my wife. And I’ll let my son shake my hand. But any touchy-feely-huggy-rubby shit? No way.
Massage is not sexual, or at least it shouldn’t be. There is nothing inappropriate in receiving a massage from anyone, male or female, you are not “intimate” with, as a matter of fact, being intimate with someone may hinder the therapist’s ability to perform the massage appropriately. And please, “Massage girl”? Massage therapist, thank you very much! I don’t have to be a three-hundred-pound gorilla to effectively massage anyone, even someone heavily muscled. It’s all based on leverage and technique. Lower the table enough and my elbows and knuckles do the rest. I’ve been known to make grown men cry and beg for mercy…or at least request me to ease up a little on the pressure. :)
Make sure your therapist is nationally certified and locally licensed, then he/she should be able to competently and thoroughly massage you. Just my 2 cents.
Christina: “Massage is not sexual, or at least it shouldn’t be”
This demonstrates a lack of understanding of the male sex drive that is nothing short of herculean.
“Massage therapist”
if you’ve ever read here, you understand that this is not a politically correct blog.
I’ve been shot and stabbed. I’ve been beaten with tire irons and baseball bats. if you think you could make me cry, or make me ask you to ease up on the pressure, bring it. On second theought, no.
My Chropractor is a small woman, who is by no means weak, but who can not “adjust” me without help, sometimes a lot of help. Even fully clothed I feel a little creepy having her tune me up.
I dislike massage, as a general rule, anyway. It never did much for me nor was it ever worth the money I paid. If I was going to go get a massage it would be an illicit one, and I’m past doing that anyway.
Og, your house, your rules. And there are most certainly people out there who do not benefit from massage, and those who just don’t like it. I just feel sorry for them, because of what they’re missing.
As far as Al Gore is concerned, it’s most likely his feeling of entitlement that leads him to pressure a professional therapist to provide any kind of “happy ending”. That sort of shit pisses me off and gets shut down ASAP. Then I blog about it. :D
LOL! Good for you, Christina. Bottomline, the massage girl was trying to do a job, and she got something she didn’t deserve, from an asshole who thinks he deserves to be treated like royalty. I hope she sues and I hope she wins and I hope his life is ruined beyond repair. And I hope she never has to touch another perv.
Christine is a licensed massage therapist and I can verify this personally.
She’s also pretty damn good at it.
I’m going back to my vacation now. Y’all do fun shit like telling me my new book is gonna suck.
Christina has the right of it. My wife (120 pounds soaking wet) was an LMT for awhile. She helped open a clinic and by the end of the year she had a client list of over 1500 – male and female. And some of both – male and female – were professional athletes. I have seen her slide her hand two to three inches under a scapula while working on someone.
Hint: Never piss off an LMT. They know where every muscle connects and where all of the neve clusters are located. The word “hurt” doesn’t do justice to the pain they can bring, heh, heh.
That said I can completely understand your feelings on the subject, Og. In 45 years she has never got me on her table for a massage.
My wife took me to a little asian lady, and laughed the whole time I pissed and moaned while she beat the shit out of me.
My back did feel better the next day though.
YMMV
Dick: Even if your book sucked, which it won’t, I wouldn’t be the one to tell you. I like my skin where it is.
I doubt there is anything that Christina does, that she doesn’t do well. It’s just that she, nor no other woman on earth, is gonna lay their hands on me.
I’m the same way, brother. It’s nothing but a mental block.
Nice comment, Christine.
Hey! You look familiar! Ermm… Facebook?
