Nice.
Mowed the front and back and fed 344,976,853 mosquitoes. Was reasonably cool so I didn’t mind so much, but had to do it all over again I’da kept a backscratcher with me
I take great pride in the fact that I can start my Power King with a piece of rope. You pull it once and the carb primes, and the second time it starts, almost invariably, after forty six years.
Today it did something it only does once in a great while. It backfired.
See, I just have this piece of rope in my camo pants, that I wear while mowing. I just wrap it around the pulley, and get a bight of it in my hand, and then yank. When it backfires, It wraps that rope so tightly around your hand it can break bones. I managed to avoid losing my fingers but the hand hurts pretty good.
Feel a bit better, the “Work it off” cold cure always worked best for me, still coughing like a maniac but not so achey. Suppose tomorrow will be another story.
Don’t dare go to bed early because I’ll wake up at two and not be able to sleep anymore.

Yeah, some people cheat, they tie a stick on one end of the rope.
Not this guy. He’d rather break his hand.
Guess I’m gonna have to break down and cut a length of broom handle off and make a handle for it.
Be sure to cut it long enough to leave an unsightly bulge in the front pocket, sorta give the little woman something to think about. ;-) She’ll at least get a laugh out of it.
lol. Maybe I should use aa piece of closet pole instead of broom handle
Umm, check the ignition timing on that thing?
Broken bones in the hand? Just pin ’em up and heal. Now watch out for what a backfire will do to your shoulder socket or ribcage. Maybe that’s because I use my considerable weight by swinging with the hips and shoulders when I pull start (kind of a reverse of a baseball pitch – throw from the trunk, the arm just carries the ball), but a backfire has laid me on the ground more than once with grimacing pain from the shoulder or ribs. I can’t lift my right arm above my shoulder right now from a recent engine fight. Engine won.
Just: Single cylinder. No timing.Only gap.
