that the people who are so vocal about “We have to get through the soapbox and ballot box before we can get to the cartridge box” and “it’s not anything like ‘that’ time yet” and “we’re not ‘there’ yet” and ‘if we do ‘n’ we become ‘just like them'” etc are the selfsame folks who bemoan the incremental losses of liberties and freedoms, almost every damned time?
If you dislike something, it’s up to you to do something about it. Leaving it to others is what got us into this mess.

Well said, young man, well said indeed.
THe issue is that no one wants to begin the shitkicking, and, really, no one wants to see it start at all. Thus, through our inaction, the architects of incremental liberalism win because we are afraid to offend them.
I don’t think it’s even “Afraid to offend”, though that’s a valid direction; I think it’s that too many have been brainwashed to believe that taking matters to hand is somehow wrong. God forbid someone get injured, or as you say, offended, in defense of our liberty.
You know, the same approach they took in the late 1700s here, where they asked the british to leave politely, and the british voted on it, and decided they would.
We won’t vote ourself out of the TSA. We won’t vote ourself out of Social Security, and we damned sure ain’t gonna vote ourselves out of Obamacare. So instead of whining about it, what the hell are we doing?
Young man? Have you SEEN me?
I’d like to see if a self-organizing entity will spring up spontaneously at the exact moment and do just that: take the situation in hand. It’s what men do.
Wusses sit around and pervert Truth and corrupt young minds because they haven’t the intestinal fortitude for a confrontation. They may not have the luxury of that choice much longer.
Between the litigious society we live in and the negation of anything vaguely resembling personal responsibility (as taught in our schools) a great majority of people are incapacitated by the thought of actually ‘doing something’.
The crucial event hasn’t happened yet, Og. Our country became free because a few dozen men took the bold step of signing a letter to the king that was quite literally treasonous. There are no leaders in our country willing to take that step yet. Until we have a core of leaders willing to take that step, you are proposing a riot instead of a revolution.
I believe that we have a majority of the populace believing that government has overstepped its proper authority, and willing to go to the ballot box and put it in its place. I don’t yet think that a majority of the American people are ready for a revolution yet.
I would far prefer to live in a free country as opposed to a nanny state. The 1980 and 1994 Presidential elections both made sweeping changes in our country. The problem is not that the ballot box can’t change things, it is that we didn’t stick with the change.
Been thinking about running for office. Althugh I’m not sure how it will play. Elect me and I will reduce the services you use. Hell, I can’t keep 6 women happy at work, why would I be any better in elected office. Now, if some of you guys run, I’ll help.
What are you and I waiting on?
Let’s fucking rock.
Wait for me! I don’t have my FOID card yet. :P
YES this is a joke.
lol.
Nice.
I take the same position I learned in my martial arts class vis a vis confrontations: Be sure the other person is the one who escalates the fight. BUT: Be sure you’re the one who finishes it.
Hate to quote the Commie Bastard, but Lenin faced the same problem in the summer of 1917. While addressing a crowd, someone shouted “Why don’t you bastards just seize power!” His reply: ” Be patient Comrade! Things aren’t Bad Enough YET!” That’s why it is remembered as the October Revolution, not the July Revolution. Remember, it was 5 years from the Boston Massacre until Lexington and Concord, yet the Brits still didn’t see the writing on the wall that whole time. If the coming elections aren’t rigged, or BHO doesn’t invoke Article 2, Section 3 of the Constitution (“he may adjourn them to such time as he shall think proper…”), then maybe the Republic has a chance. If not, just how long to you think it would take to build and man the barricades? Until then, stockpile, practice, get in shape and watch the news.
We are old. Like ‘invented dirt’ old.
We are homestanding.
When they come, riots or feds, we will take our shots and probably die here.
But we will take our shots.
