Apparently, he can’t get any more room in his Swiss vault, so stealing more would just be a waste of time.
Why do I get the feeling that we will someday long for this asshole back? We’ll end up with Deadfish or someone like that, and then we’ll be really screwed.
I’m SO glad I don’t live in the city. Or, for that matter, in the state.
I heard a news clip today with Obama saying that Rahm Emmanuel would make a great mayor for Chicago.
Since Obama going to bat for this or that candidate has so far ended in a Republican winning, he should keep backing Rahm. Chicago can then have its first GOP mayor in almost a century.
I have a feeling “little dick” Daley is actually doing this because of his wife’s continuing battle against cancer. And if this is the case, I wish him well.
Mind you, I can find little, if anything in which to praise or be positive about regarding his stint as Mayor. Frankly, he was not half the man his father was. And as corrupt as that bastard was, at least he knew how far he should/could go, and would not go any further. (With the “awarding of about 160k votes” to JFK being the possible exception to this rule.)
On the other hand if Daley is getting out while the getting’s good, than may he soon be a victim of a mugging or some other crime perpetrated by some fine upstanding Chicagoan or another, as soon as his body guards are cut down due to budget constraints by the (future) new Mayor.
