Getting close
Deer season begins in Indiana next weekend. I hope to hell I can get one, and quickly. I feel guilty going hunting because I have so many other pressing issues that I ought to be dealing with, but I’m damned if I’m gonna give up my time afield for work.

It’s about quality of life… about living… about being alive.
Work is all well and good, and I give it every honor. That said, a man must take time to do what makes his life worth living, and to be himself.
Anything less, and life loses the flavor that makes it worth living. Non one should deny a man a life worth living, especially he should not do it to himself.
Whether it be a few hours with a favored book, a day spent hunting, or perhaps a good meal without regard to cholesterol and caffeine… take the time to remember why life is such a precious gift.
Go on… go hunting, and enjoy the hell out of it without guilt.
My long time hunting/fishing partner and I have both fallen victim to economic setbacks in the work place. We were just about ready to cancel the late plains deer hunt the first weekend in December.
*BOTH* of our wives vociferously “encouraged” us to get our stinky fannies out there and blow off some steam…..AND bring home some meat!
Its was made very clear that we would be in the proverbial doghouse if we canceled….don’ya’know!!!
