I’m in
a good deal less pain than I expected, given last afternoon’s slip and fall.
It may be that I’m still cold enough that the nerve sensations have not yet made it to my brain, and I’m actually in agony and don’t know it yet.
Probably the case that I’m so used to knee pain that this is nothing out of the ordinary. I can walk on it fine, and it feels ok, I just can’t make any effort to turn the knee or put any pressure on it from either side.
Getting old is not for pussies.

Damn right that is.
I like to tell my students that pain is just God’s way of saying ‘Don’t do that’.
For us folks who have managed to accumulate a few years, I think perhaps pain is God’s way of saying ‘Remember when you….”
And yet our society is full of them! Run by ’em too! GAH!
At least you can still walk. When I took a tumble in July, I ended up having my whole right shoulder rebuilt; I’m still in physical therapy and can’t lift more than a few ounces.
If you have pain in the morning when you wake up….you actually know you are alive…..My theory! :-)
Agreed, getting old is not for pussies.
However, it beats the alternative.
Oh, ouch, Og! –The Knee Brace: it is your Friend.
Just bought a new one myself.
Do they make those in pachyderm?
“Getting old is not for pussies.”
Damn straight. If you kids only knew.
