Truer words are rarely spoken. The rabid anti-gun left have done more to put firearms into private hands than the very best of intentions by anyone. And it has to absolutely drive them batshit crazy.
There’s a song I’ve posted about recently, which I enjoy a lot, which gets stuck in my head a lot, that demonstrates this perfectly: Leaf Blower by the Asylum Street spankers. Witness the lyrics:

This illustrates with perfect clarity what the left thinks of firearms. If you have one, they think, and you get a little annoyed, you’ll use it. Not having one means not using one, in their minds.
I am the KING of the annoyed- though Partner is the Emperor. I awaken irritated every morning, and my irritation grows through the day, and I bank the fires of my irritation every night so that I don’t forget the irritation I feel the NEXT day. I’ve been saving it up for 52 years.
If there was a human being that was going to shoot someone, it would be me.
But I don’t ever even consider it, because normal people do not. It is the liberal mindset to be annoyed at something and loudly mouth off about it, even if- especially if, they don’t understand what the hell they’re talking about. They are willing to destroy the lives and livlihoods of people they don’t bother to understand in the name of any asinine cause, so long as it makes them feel empowered to do so. And the success or failure of that sort of subversive bullshit is highly sensitive, in it’s nature, to an armed citizen.
So since they know that they themselves cannot be trusted with firearms, and you can’t be trusted to just lie down and let them steamroll you if YOU are armed, they want it all to end.
So, yeah., Go ahead, Obambi. Try to ban high cap mags.
A former liberal co-worker once said to me (quoting as closely as possible from memory):
“I shouldn’t have a gun, because if I had one I’d shoot my neighbors for making too much noise, and since I shouldn’t have one and I’m a good person, neither should you.”
He got a bit flustered when I asked him why his lack of self control had any bearing on me.
If anything, his lack of self control is a good reason for you to have a gun.
Or they make up bullcrap “The only reason people want guns is-” excuses. Very often racially-based(“people like you are scared of blacks/hispanics/fill in the damn blank”)
That’s a song sung by Liberals all over Palo Alto! But they might have a gun if they live close to East Palo Alto.
