I had one drift that was encroaching on a doorway. I waited an hour to do other things (like rest my arms), then decided to tackle the drift. The wind had shifted, and all 3 feet by 20 feet of drift was magically gone.
Sometimes procrastination is good.

Indeed! As often as not, if you wait long enough, the problem simply disapears.
or not, in the case of democrats.

We got around 12 inches here. The snow was fairly moist so when a drift formed it stayed. Heavy crap to shovel too. So sore and stiff that I could barely move today.
I was planning on leaving things be until after 3 p.m., since they said that was when the wind and lake effect were coming for Part Two, but stir craziness and feeling like a lazy bum reading when everyone was out shoveling got the best of me and I attacked at before noon. Mistake – nature erased all of my work.
I turned in early (amazing how soon you want to go to bed when you’re snowed in and it’s dark already) and went out to finish the job at 2 a.m. It was -5F, but zero wind, and so felt more comfortable than 1 p.m. when I was having snow pushed into every gap in my clothing and through my eyeballs. I even broke a sweat. After a couple of hours I went in to dry the outerwear and nap a couple hours, then finished in the morning and even got in a weekday Mass. Made some tea, then off to work.
