Damn.
I’ve kind of avoided this album, because I felt it was just capitalizing on Johnny’s death- but then I stumbed across this cut.
God meant Johnny to have that song. Neal was just… hanging onto it for him.
Fucker’s been dead for years and his voice still pulls at me, from beyond the grave.
Distressingly, Barry Manilow is still with us. Go figure.

Wow. Awesome. Like you I’d avoided this album, and for similar reasons. Now I think I might have to add this one to the collection.
That song has been one of my favorites of his ever since he recorded it.
Mine too, Bob.
Still lookin.
Thanks Og. This made my night complete.
This one gets me pretty badly.

Johnny does it better than the original band Rabbit.
This one does it for me, plus the video kicks it too

Used to listen to it when it was on the radio while sorting nuts and bolts orders at a Sharon Fasteners warehouse in St. Paul.
Ah, memories…
No, Johnny was working on this with Rick Rubin almost up until the day he died. It took Rubin a long time to get this stuff out because he was grieving. I’m glad it’s in time for another potential Grammy, though. :)

Whatever the case, it’s pretty damned good
