Why we’ll never vote our way out of this mess
When people are trying to bring legitimate change, and this bullshit happens.
Anytime legislators walk away from their jobs, their families should be held hostage until they return. Held in a prison cell with violent criminals, that is.
Any time a union worker takes off his job to protest, he should be fired.
This will never happen. We will never vote our way out of this. Ever.

For the legislators that take off, after a few days, declare their seats vacant and make interim appointments to fill them until elections can be held in 90 days.
No, the original critters may NOT run for election.
Dennis the librarian shusher
lol. I like it fine, Dennis!
Try them for treason, then line ’em up on a wall & shoot them.
THEN they can’t run for re-election.
Or for those favoring lesser punishment, Tar + Feathers + Rail & run ’em out of town. Make certain that the rail ride is on U tube.
Any legislature that meets more than 30 days in a calendar year is part of the problem, not the solution.
I read somewhere on the internet that (I wish I could remember who wrote it) there should be a law that stipulates that:
“Anyone who gets money from the government should not be allowed to vote”
…or something like that…
What I do like about it is that it addresses the issue of those who are dependents on the daddy state for handouts.
If you are under 18 you are a dependent and cannot vote because you have not yet reached adulthood.
If you are a dependent on the state (whether you are over 18 or not), you still cannot vote because you are … well… a dependent on the tax dollars of those who are actually making money for a living.
Now mind you… this is an over simplified rule (and I am sure I do not have it quite right as the police, fire and military would be included in that legal interdiction, so it obviously needs to be fleshed out just a little bit), but it addresses the dependent classes directly.
…and if this was invoked, the Democrats would be in BIG trouble.
I’ve been advocating Dennis proposal with one addition. Absent legislators also forfeit all pensions and benefits accrued.
